The Uncovering of the Muse

How I’m finding my muse and you can too…

Once upon a time there lived a little girl and although her spelling sucked she just loved to write stories. Her muse was always close by and lived in everyone and anything. That little girl also had some stuff published, which was really cool.

The little girl grew and university called. Academic essays were written, no time for stories now. Then the workplace came and reports were written, but some ghost writing and press release opportunities did present themselves, but for non-fictional pieces.

As the years went on the creative muse got buried by burdens and other writing styles. The little girl grew up and had a family of her own now, but then her family grew and a flicker of something long buried started to emerge.

So the woman dug and dug and dug some more.

There it was… a little worn, a little torn but still there, just buried.

The muse.

So, just what is a muse?

“When I’m writing, I write. And then it’s as if the muse is convinced that I’m serious and says, ‘Okay. Okay. I’ll come.’”

-Maya Angelou

A muse lives in the right side of your brain, the creative side and has a full access pass to your unconscious mind and memories long forgotten. A muse lives on and never really leaves you, but sometimes it can get a little lost or buried. It’s our job to find it again…

How did I find my muse?

It was never really lost, just buried. You can find your muse too if you just dig a little.
