A New Challenge

The Three Joyful Moments Challenge:

Thank you for tagging me in this new Challenge Trisha Faye

Here is Trisha’s original post.

So, here we go:

1. What’s a small Joy that fills your soul with delight?

That is so easy. It would have to be my dear sweet dog Frosty.

I miss him a lot and we enjoyed every day with him for ten short years. He was the best dog I’ve ever had.

I have had plenty of dogs in my life and yet Frosty rated very high on the sweetness meter.

Frosty had “written” many stories here on medium and had a few very loyal fans that enjoyed reading his view of life.

Here is Frosty’s very first story on medium in case you have never read his writing: (I also have a “list” of his stories that can be found under my name near my bio, if you’re interested in reading later) …

Frosty has also written other stories …a few involved my penchant for cleaning …and also how Frosty was an answer to a prayer.

Now Frosty writes from heaven along with other pets that belonged to Ida Adams Julie KingGood and a few others that loved Frosty’s antics.

2. What’s a large Joy that swells your heart with love?

That is also very easy…I’ll give you a hint. I have known him for 48 (ish) years…

oh alright! It’s my Hubs!

My Photo of Hubs and I

I have been known to mention him in some of my stories here on medium. He is on medium mostly just to read many of your stories…and he has written one story so far. I do try to encourage him to write what he knows. Since he’s so good at that (Engineer).

So, we shall see… but Hubs recently wrote his first piece on medium a week or so ago. Check it out:

Hubs and I met each other in July/August of 1974 at work. We had a lot of fun on our first date…maybe I should suggest he write that story 😂.

We’ve had so many fun memories through the years, and we’ve been through thick and thin together. We’ve had the chance to travel for work as well as for pleasure over the years. We also had the great joy of having a son that was born in 1992. I’ve also added tidbits about our son into some of my stories. Hubs is a large JOY to me and has been for so many years. My parents loved him and that’s one thing he remembers. Thank you, Hubs, for speaking at Moms funeral…and saying how welcomed you felt by both my mom and my dad.

Hubs puts up with most of my Shenanigans a lot more than anyone else I know of and is still here with his smiling face each morning.

Every one of my friends agrees that Hubs is a whiz at fixing things. I even have a kitchen towel to prove it. 👇🏻

I also know that I usually will NOT win most arguments with Hubs and that he is (almost) always RIGHT:

This last Christmas I had something special made just for him. It’s a “title” I had invented for him recently since he seems to be able to fix so many things around the house and in the yard. I had a very nice, engraved sign made for him (but it unfortunately doesn’t show up very well in a photo.) The title is:

“RESTORATION ENGINEER”

I invented that title for Hubs in late 2022 when he was fixing things like mad around here. Here is an example of Hubs Handy work:

Needless to say, Hubs is a Joy to me most days. Oh, I know we have our good days and some not so good…Just like the rest of America! And soon we will be celebrating 48 years of marriage.

So, thank you Hubs for being a Large Joy to me!

I am sure that we’d all love to see more stories on medium from Hubs…right everyone??

3. What’s one way you can Spread Joy with others?

I really enjoyed Trisha’s answer on her own Challenge that she wrote today:

I loved her answer to the last question, and I would also like to incorporate her idea into my life. She had suggested giving people you see throughout the day a true and heartfelt compliment.

During the holidays I had tried been trying to do this more often and it seemed to bring me Joy by doing that. And most people I complimented seemed to be genuinely happier having received a heartfelt compliment as well.

Another idea I have is to offer to pray for people when I hear of something they have an issue with. I have prayed for a few people on medium when I see they will be going through something like surgery or some such.

Many people have tough things that they’re going through and if they write about it then I believe that prayer can change those things.

One of my longstanding mottos regarding prayer is:

“It never hurts to ask!”

So, I believe that praying for others can also spread Joy with others.
