“The Best day ever” Written by Frosty (Lu’s dog)🐶

Hello,

I have mommy’s iPad when she wasn’t looking and I decided to write about what we got to do today. It was one of my best days ever because mommy and daddy took me to THREE parks!

I got to stand on the middle console in the car while daddy drove and we went to the first park while we listened to some 1940’s music station on the sound box and it seemed way to loud to me. I prefer 1970’s music.

But For some reason they both seem to like this loud really old music and to me it seems so cold and noisy to my furry little ears.

I would rather they left the car windows open so that I could smell the park getting closer.

I wish I could speak English so I could tell them to turn off the music and just please roll down the windows. I try to speak to them but it comes out as whining to them and they seem upset by it so I just clam up.

When we got to the park today we saw all the ducks and geese and took our usual walk so that I could sniff and smell all the good grassy areas and then pee on all the same spots every other dog in history has peed on.

That is my favorite thing to do. That and choosing just the right spot for “number two”.

Mommy calls it that. I’m not sure what “number one” is though.

Today it seemed less busy at this park but we did see many turtles lined up on the cement line at the lakes edge.

(Photos my own)

What was different today was daddy interrupted our fun time and said “ok, let’s go!”

Then we got back into the car and left. I wasn’t ready to leave. I’d only gone “number two” ONCE!

Daddy drove us away and down a few streets and then he stopped and he left us sitting in the car alone. Just mommy and me! I looked at mommy and she seemed ok with this so I stopped wondering where he went.

When he got back into the car he handed mommy a bag of something that smelled really good and I started to Hope it was something they’d share with me. I think it smelled like Chinese food. Yum.

A few blocks later daddy pulled into a different park.

It’s as though he read my doggy mind and we were at a much bigger park and one of my all time favorite places to sniff.

I ran with glee out of the car as I saw mommy grab the blanket and my water can and my little blue metal dish and I knew this was LUNCH and it might be a favorite snack.

They set up the table as I was trying to sniff out a spot to pee on…she kept telling me to stop it and “come on already”!

Mommy gets so uptight when she wants lunch.

She poured some water for me and then they took out their lunch boxes and it WAS Chinese food. My favorite! But then again any food they give me a bit of is wonderful to me. This was some chicken and some rice and a little bit of beef. Yummy. I have the best mommy and daddy ever.

When we got done with our lunch we cleaned our area and put the blanket back into the car. And we walked a longer way and saw more geese and a loose dog (and his folks didn’t Stop him from chasing the geese!)

Mommy said a few bad words out loud about how rude the dogs parents were to let him run after the geese and scare them. Mommy doesn’t sugarcoat anything when it comes to animals. She said humans don’t Have half a brain to allow that dog loose and aren’t there park rules and such. Daddy just said YES, and nodded his head.

He’s used to mommy’s rants.

We walked a long time and daddy kept resting since his leg is bothering him. I think he said arthritis or some such. I have no idea what that is but he sure sits a lot.

So after this lunch break and our second walk we got back into the car and drove over to our third park of the day. It wasn’t far at all and we were there in practically no time. 😳

Mommy kept saying “this is our third park, Frosty!”

and then she looked at daddy and said “wink, wink!.”

They smiled at each other and at me as we we got out of the car and began another walk.

I think the smells of this park reminded me of the second park we went to. But I could be wrong. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We walked for another few minutes and daddy found a bench to sit on. Mommy and I saw the beautiful trees for me to pee on and then we saw a little boy riding his skateboard down toward us on the walkway. He was coming so fast that I was sure he’d run us over but mommy thought fast and we ran over to the grassy area to get out Of his way.

This day was so exciting and I was starting to get tired and my tummy was full of chicken and rice and some beef from the Chinese food from the second park that smelled an awful lot like this third park and my thoughts were getting mixed up and daddy said “ok Frosty, it’s time to head home from our third park of the day!”

Mommy just giggled at that statement and I wondered what was so funny.

I think this was one of the best PARK days ever. We have never been to three parks in one day and I am so darn tired that I fell asleep before dinner on this most wonderfullest of park days.

Thank you for reading my first story on medium.

Sleep well everyone.

Love
