This will be a rather short piece. it’s Sunday y’all and that means it’s a rest day. At least for me. But that Email made me open Medium and write about it.

Yes! I’m so happy with my performance. But I shouldn’t only thank myself for this. I should thank you. And I do. Thank you for the wonderful support. Thank you for finding my ideas meaningful!

For this, I will show you how I did it. How I achieved my first top writer title.

Ironically, it’s for Ideas.

Why ironically? Well, I always thought that I can give people different perspectives. I always wanted to become a “Professional Idea Giver” if that makes sense. And it’s the closest I’ve come to this. Getting rewarded for my ideas is the most fulfilling thing in my writing career.

And it took me three stories to make it happen. One I’m believing that it is the best idea I’ve given in a long time. It’s easy money if you think about it.

Ideas that people want NOW

The first thing I want from readers is to give them words of value. And that reflects on the number of views they are generating.

So I created what I believe to be the best short-term use of Vocal ever.

It doesn’t get easier than that.

Getting $70 by writing 5000 words? That’s a steal!

But yet, I found the way. People loved it. The comments are a quick proof of that.

Story 1 out of 3

I saw the support of that story, which kept me motivated to create more ideas for the people.

For this, I took the advantage of Medium’s reward system as well.

I started writing for something completely different and it took another shape from what I expected.

Remember, ideas create different ideas.

So, I thought. Why not take it to the next level? Why not join forces with other writers to collectively make it to the $500 goal?

People loved that idea as well. They want to be part of it and it shows in the comments. And while I’m not entirely sure if I want to do it yet, people that are friends with other writers and trust each other? They should do it yesterday!

Story 2 out of 3

But this wasn’t the end. I had to touch one more part of this reward challenge that Medium brought to the surface.

It’s good and all. But what’s in it for us, the smaller writers? Do we have anything to fight for other than an unfair race against established writers?

I gave my ideas on that too. Ideas on how Medium can and should help us too.

How to make newcomers more welcome and different milestones for each to reach.

With 3 hours of reading time in 2 days, this story is bound to be my most successful one.

Why?

2 reasons. Right timing and unbeatable insights.

I never aim to spend a single second of one’s time. Your time is as valuable to me as my time.

And that reflects on my word count, never exceeding my line. And it also reflects in your reading time which is almost as much as the complete story’s reading time.

The little subtle tips

Well, apart from me writing my heart out, some things must be in use every time in order to achieve a top writer badge.

You have to add the right tags. For me, that was “ideas”, “tips”, “tips and tricks”, and “writing tips”. Don’t be repetitive with the tags and always diversify. You don’t have to add both “tips” and “tips and tricks” in there. Both work.

The lower the competition, the better the chances are. The idea tag has 33k followers. Compared to writing tag, which has 240k followers, and more competition, it’s an easier achieve feat.

Try to find your niche and the badge will arrive shortly after.

Apparently, you don’t want a ton of stories to make it happen. I did it with 3.

It only takes high engagement.

Go there, and give your best self!

Final thoughts

I hope that you will enjoy your Sunday and take some of my insights into consideration for the week that is about to unfold.

Truth be told. Sundays are off days for me. But news like that can’t be left unmentioned.

Readers that support me are the sole reason for this title that I earned. So I feel the urge of rewarding you with more ideas to digest.

Remember, we are not machines that type only for earnings. We are humans that want to make the world a better place.

Couldn’t be happier with today’s Email. And I’m convinced more than ever that this is the first of many to come. Top writer on Writing coming up!

Peace.
