You Can Make at Least $70 Writing Only 5000 Words

Tips on how to “hack” the system of Vocal.media and get an x7 ROI.

I started writing on Vocal because I wanted to explore new places apart from Medium. Many people praised it for being an alternative because of the extra perks it offers (tips, bonuses, earnings from ALL reads).

I started by copying my articles from Medium there like most of you have done already, I assume.

But, very few views. Very little earnings. Tips? Just $1… My best performing story, a polished piece about Sexual Abuse has 69 views. $0.41 in earnings…

As you can see from my screenshot, I got almost nothing in 3 months…

Except, the bonuses.

The bonuses that Vocal gives are a great way for writers to get a self-confidence boost. But I needed a milestone to achieve to get those extra bucks in my wallet.

Copying all my stories from Medium there felt exhausting and unnecessary. I knew I needed a better strategy.

Apart from this, I didn't have enough stories to reach the milestone needed.

Suddenly, an idea came to my mind.

First, the Bonuses that add up to $70

I got my first bonus from Vocal for posting 5 stories. It was $5. I had no idea about bonuses back then so I did some research.

Another $5 you get by liking 10 stories by other writers. Easily done.

$10 for posting 10 stories. I had the stories ready so it was an easy case as well.

Lastly, $50 for reaching 50 stories…Now that felt a little overwhelming. I looked at the number of stories I’ve written that were worth copying to Vocal. 31… I needed almost 20 more stories to get that bonus.

It was the 11 of June and my subscription would be renewed on the 19…Bummer.

I had to find a way to create 20 stories in 8 days.

“Hacking” Vocal’s Terms for Writers

Okay. Vocal requires a minimum of 600 words per story to get accepted.

That translates to 12000 words for me to get the bonus… On my good days, I can write around 1500. I needed 8 way too good days to make it happen.

Uhm sorry, but I wanted an easier way.

Suddenly, it occurred to me.

Vocal wants a minimum of 100 words per poem.

Vocal’s Community Guidelines

A poem doesn't need to be structured. Poems are the truest form of expression. I took small ideas and made a poem out of them.

On the left side, you can take a glimpse of what worked for me.

I was making writing a happy habit again with the prospect of expressing myself.

That’s what writing is all about after all.

I woke up every day for some days, typed furiously some words that felt more like me than ever, and created poems out of them.

How to Utilize my Technique

Okay, Vocal has a $10 subscription for writers. That means you have 30 days tops to get the bonuses and leave with an x7 ROI.

$60 plus views and potential tips ain't bad for just 5000 words, right? Right.

How I did it?

I went to WordCounter.

It counts your words in real-time so you know when you reached 100 words. I was typing until I reached that, copied to Vocal.

Choosing pictures is easy as Vocal integrates with Unsplash. You only have to type a word related to your concept.

Choose the right community (Poets) because you might get rejected for using too few words if you don't.

Write a minimum of 5 poems per day. For me, keeping the momentum alive was what made me produce so many ideas fastly.

It’s only 500 words.

For more ideas, a quick look at my profile will help you. My last 10 stories are all of the same content. Different ideas completely, though.

Enjoy a quick profit out of making your passion a reality!

Final Thoughts

Looking at the community guidelines of every service we are using might lead up to knowing our ground better. Knowing our ground better will make us walk on it better.

This is the most important lesson of this article today.

The money that comes with it means little compared to that.

But with that said, I hope I showed you something of importance with this story. For those who aren’t aware of Vocal, or didn't make it to 50 stories yet, this is the easiest effortless way to make it happen.

Due to the fact that the editing process on Vocal is weird, writing 100 words per story is way easier.
