If you’ve been following my previous posts, you know I’ve chatted about all kinds of Marvel stuff. You can find those links at the end of this one.

But today, we’re diving into the juicy scoop about the new release date for the second season of Loki!

Guess what, Marvel fans? Loki season 2 is making a surprise appearance on our screens earlier than expected! It’s almost as if Tom Hiddleston’s mischievous God of Mischief has decided to mess with the timeline once again. You heard it right; the much-anticipated sequel to Loki season 1 is finally dropping sooner than we thought.

Now, if you’re anything like me, you’ve been eagerly waiting for Loki season 2 to hit Disney Plus. The first season was a massive hit, adored by fans and critics alike, quickly becoming one of the crown jewels in the Disney Plus Marvel Studios lineup.

But, oh boy, the first season left us with a bunch of burning questions, especially regarding what happened to the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Thankfully, we knew we’d be getting a second season to unravel those mysteries, but we were prepared to play the waiting game.

In case you missed the memo, Marvel Studios recently dropped the bombshell that Loki season 2 will now premiere on Thursday, October 5th, at 6 p.m. Pacific time, which is 9 p.m. Eastern time.

Initially, we were all gearing up for an October 6th premiere, but Disney Plus just couldn’t wait to give us more Loki goodness. And if that’s not enough to get you excited, they sweetened the deal by releasing a video with some tantalizing behind-the-scenes footage from the show’s production. Talk about a sneak peek!

But wait, there’s more! They spilled the beans in a press release that all the subsequent episodes will also drop on Thursdays at 6 p.m. Pacific time. Now, that’s a bit of a game-changer.

See, all the previous MCU Disney Plus shows decided to grace us with their presence at midnight. But Loki is here to break the mold, and we’re all for it. Maybe it’s because Disney Plus has been playing around with release dates and times lately.

Now, for those of you who were worried about how long you’d have to wait to see the Loki season 2 finale, worry no more. Since it’s sticking to a weekly release schedule, the grand finale is set to grace our screens on November 9th. Unless, of course, Disney Plus decides to throw us a curveball with a two-episode premiere. We wouldn’t mind that at all!

But here’s the kicker: if Disney Plus sticks to the one-episode-a-week routine, the Loki season 2 finale is landing just one day before the theatrical release of The Marvels. You know how movies like to have those fancy Thursday night showings? Well, that could potentially clash with our Loki finale viewing party plans.

Final Words

It might sound a tad peculiar that Marvel Studios would put Loki in direct competition with The Marvels’ Thursday night screenings, but maybe they figured it’s better than going head-to-head with Friday night blockbusters.

Who knows? Marvel could give us a double-episode treat or decide to shuffle the release schedule again.

All we can do is keep our eyes peeled for more “time-slipping” announcements from the big shots at Marvel.
