The Power of Touch
A poem before we reunite

Decades ago, when we were young
You touched me, innocently, memorably, nostalgically
You touched my body, gently, tenderly, passionately
You touched my mind, certainly, brilliantly, confidently
You touched my heart, softly, sweetly, compassionately
You touched my spirit, boldly, quietly, deeply
Decades later, we’re stronger, wiser, calmer
You’ve touched my soul in ways you’re unaware
There’s power in your touch, wherever you are, here or there
Yes, please, touch me again when we’re near
But know, you touch me when you’re far, as if you’re already here
