What If

A poem of uncertainty

What if it’s all in my head and our love is dead

What if I’m making this up and emptied our cup from all possibility

Am I facing reality?

You’re so far away but we have so much to say

What if you’re fine with a long distance line

just checking in and not jumping right in

How can I know if your eyes don’t show

and you don’t tell me more about opening the door

What if I’m wrong about feelings so strong

What if my dream was only a scheme

What if I’m right that we are pure light

What if we see love between you and me

What if it’s true I’m meant for you

I don’t have a clue until I see you

I’ll just have to wait at the airport gate

When we reunite and see what feels right
