A Vision of Us
A poem of desire and longing

I see a photograph of you and sigh
You’re gorgeous, sir, and I’m not surprised
I know you’re beautiful inside as well, and damn, you’re attractive as hell
It’s been decades since you’ve touched me, yet time stops when there’s a photo to see
I imagine your caress while alone in bed, anticipating you here with me instead
Rich amber eyes gaze into my soul, lean strong hands for me to hold
I hear your deep voice as if you were here, a phone call away and you feel so near
Our distance makes my daydream grow, as waiting to be together can feel so slow
I’ll pass the time with visions of us, not too long now, I know we’ll be luscious
Minds, bodies, spirits so deeply aligned, I’m sure we’ll have no trouble making up for lost time
I see a photograph of you and smile, we’ll see each other in a little while
