The Power of Poetry
the pigment of light

The orange color is the brightest shade of red, It feels familiar yet foreign. Like a family member that’s lost and found, It makes me feel happy and sad. It’s the joy of a sunrise, and the setting of the sun. Vibrant yet dull, It’s a color confined to earth, but exists in heaven. You find it on people, on objects. You can see it in paintings, but never in real life. You might breathe it into your lungs and live just for a moment. It’s a fleeting reality, but you will never hold onto it for long. It looks like a magnet but is never actually magnetic. It’s a color only created by the sun and then quickly fades away. It’s a pigment of light.
It’s the color of imagination and freedom. It reminds me of nature and creativity.
How it’s not just a color, but something that has so much meaning to me. Orange is universal and versatile. It goes with everything and anything. It compliments everything else in the spectrum. It’s an orange ribbon I wear on my graduation cap from college. It’s the soft yellowish-orange sand of Hawaii beaches clutched in my hands as I wander through life feeling lost at sea without a clue what direction to take next or what to do with myself when all these trips haven’t gone as planned as they might have hoped they would be by now. It’s a color full of life and vibrancy that drives me on; a color that is always optimistic and hopeful, a color that makes me feel like I’m ready to take on the world, and a color that makes me realize no matter how much I may get lost, I will always find my way home. It’s orange.
Light it up the way to go
Bright orange is a beautiful gift to be given to any person. It is so vital that we appreciate its sweet and beautiful shade. The color orange is strange because it has such a broad meaning and glorious tone and yet is often misunderstood. Some people see it as an object of negativity, like a foul and harmful color. Politicians use orange to confuse people and manipulate them.
Schools use the color orange to separate children from adults; this could be for discipline or simple uniform wear.
Orange is also the color of caution which means the person holding the orange object could be in danger.
Orange is also a sign of energy and enthusiasm, and when people use that color in their apparel, it brings out that feeling, even if you don’t know why.
It’s not being flashy or trying to be seen; it’s just a happy, empowering color. In the end, it wasn’t about the orange, it was about YOU!
Orange is the way to go, The color of creativity and freedom. It’s the pigment of light,
