The Power of Poetry

What is the color of hope?

A Publication that Adores Poesy

by Dariusz Gross #DATAsculptor

There’s a green I speak of, not all the green in the world. To this one green do I swear, with every shade it has inside. With greens for leaves or clovers or peas, with its grassy pallet and its leafy bedding. This is the color that means something to me. This is the color of memory, of my most hopeful day. This is the green.

It’s not the green of a Christmas tree or a mint crème ice cream cone. It’s not the green of a dollar bill or a dollar store. This is no forest green, no mother nature green, it’s not even England green. This green is different. The green of first kisses, the first time I fell. The first time I tripped, the first time my hand brushed against yours. The first time I saw you, the night that you burst into flames.

This green is new grass; it’s wet towels fresh from the shower. This green is your eyes when the candle lights are on. This green is the color of your soul. It’s the color of your soul when you’re with me. This is not a happy green. It’s not a sad green. It’s not an angry green, jealous green, or even an “I want you” green. This is no evil, no good, no wrong, no right. This is just what I know as my poetry reality.

What is the colour of hope?, you may ask. Well, “The Power of Poetry” is the color of hope.

how to submit?

We love to use green in our poetry because it can evoke a more emotional reaction with the reader. The color green allows the authors to leave their poem open for interpretation and each person can form their own idea of what it means.

In the publication “The Power of Poetry”, it’s shown that the authors prefer to use green in order to not cause a literal color description. Please illustrate your poetry in green, or we will gladly render a useful illustration for you. By submitting your poetry, you agree to the color of hope.
