The Perfect First Date
It is not what you think…
Imagine you’ve finally made it. Your crush has agreed to go on a date with you. You want it to be perfect, so you think about what you can do with her.
Many men choose an expensive dinner date in this situation. In my experience, this is the worst option. How about something completely relaxed and casual? I will present you my best tips with which you can make your first date a complete success.
1. Keep it Casual
In my experience, something casual beats a dinner date by miles.
How about a coffee to go and a walk through the park?
It feels more natural and less contrived that way. If you run out of things to talk about, you can just comment on what’s going on around you. On a dinner date, everything seems much more contrived. If you don’t know what to say, it can get awkward quickly. After all, you usually have to sit across from your date for at least an hour.
That’s why I strongly advise introverts not to go on a dinner date.
2. Sit Next to your Date
As just mentioned, sitting across from each other on a first date can be awkward.
I’ve had good experiences with sitting next to my date on a park bench, for example.
That way you don’t have to keep eye contact the whole time, which takes the pressure out of the situation. It also makes it much easier for you to make physical contact, for example by rubbing one shoulder against theirs. Breaking the touch barrier is extremely important.
Sitting next to your date, you can quickly find out how she reacts to the contact. Does she move away from you, or does she also seek physical contact? If you get enough positive signals, you can easily hug her.
3. Skip the pointless Smalltalk
The usual small talk is boring. Instead, try to develop a more personal, exciting conversation. Ask about their life story, tell yours, share a secret. All of these things will help you connect more quickly. Having a few questions in mind that you can ask is also a good idea. For example, you may choose any person, who would you like to have dinner with? Or little games. You tell her 3 things about you, one of which is a lie. She has to guess which one. Have fun and avoid the boring talk.
