The People Who Shape Us
An observation of how we become who we become
We find ourselves through the discovery of others.
Whether it is our parents, friends, actors, musicians, or fictional characters, we are in constant observation of what we identify with.
With time, these traits we admire in others get reflected in our own character, and this process keeps on going throughout our life.
As we get older, these pieces that we’ve collected help us to build our own unique complex character and it eventually becomes the way we face life.
I think this is an important subject to be mindful of because in life, we are met with a combination of millions of events and one needs an example in front of them to get through all this, and not get lost.
In my case, I’ve always idolized women who were elegant, and lady-like, and this affected everything from my values to my fashion choices.
So whether it is the basic choices of everyday life, or how I carry myself, what I have chosen as an example for myself helps me along the way.
I feel comfortable in this way of identifying myself and feel drawn to things that represent this theme to me.
This way, I feel that I’ve found a compass to help me face life and build my own expression of what I want to represent.
So that’s why I think that being aware of the people who shape us is important.
Who do you think contributed to shaping who you are?
Thank you for reading.
