The Juice Cleanse

Julia was mourning her daily blueberry muffin…

This drabble (100-word story) is a response to Crush Hundo Edition’s word prompt. Today’s word is MOURNING.

Julia had been on a juicing cleanse for five days, and she was mourning her daily blueberry muffin.

She didn’t even remember how her husband managed to talk her into it. Solidarity was nice and all, in theory. But this was absolutely ridiculous.

She found herself getting distracted at work. She’d be thinking about croissants or French toast and completely lose track of what she was doing.

That night she’d finally had it.

She carefully got out of bed, so as not to disturb her husband, and made a beeline towards the fridge.

And she gorged.

And it was glorious.

This 15th drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.
