Dealing with loss is one part of life that we never get used to. It is a shock to the system every time we go through it. And that’s why it is important to remember a couple of things.

#1 Self-care is necessary: We get so wrapped up in grief that we forget to take care of ourselves. Remember, even the basics like pouring a nice warm bath, eating well and sleeping are important.

#2 Talk about it: This is a hard one. But talking about your loss with caring friends and loved ones can be therapeutic.

It’s also important to not make too many changes. Take time to experience your grief. Really sit in it. Making major life decisions during this time could be something you regret down the road.
