The Gentle Breeze
Response to Reciprocal Prompt Last Week of November

How lovely to be inspired by Dr. Preeti Singh’s nature prompts in Reciprocal publication on Medium. This week’s prompt: the gentle breeze softly sways and whistles.
I happen to love the touch of gentle, cleansing breezes in the air, upon my skin. They are like kisses of wind. Like the ones that rustle the leaves outside my window. Even during this past mild autumn. The gentle breezes that flutter the white lace curtain sheers of my bedroom.
Sometimes, my imagination gets the better of me. Especially, when the lights are out and I am swept by the flirtations of the moon’s glow, shades of light and shadow, accompanied by a gentle breeze that can send a shiver up and down my spine, as I pull the covers over my head.
Still somehow, I find sleep, even as the whispering, whistling zephyr wind engages with the swaying branches in idle conversation and mischievery. I confess to eavesdropping.
(Lest you think mischievery is not a word, I will tell you it is much more ominous than mere mischief and, coincidentally, so perfectly rhymes with the word thievery.)
Thank you for reading and please do respond to Dr. Preeti Singh’s prompt. I look forward to reading yours, as well.
Thanks to the editors of Reciprocal publication for such an engaging writing space.
