NATURE | CREATIVITY | INSPIRATION

Imaginative Art Mesmerizes Me on the Blue Canvas

Endless entertainment and inspiration from the clouds

Creatives look up to the sky for ideas. Geniuses take cues from the vast expanse. Poets seek refuge in the mysteries of hues. Climatologists study the types of clouds to understand the earth’s climate. Meteorologists curate clouds to predict the weather.

Ordinary people get inspiration from the clouds. They are always changing shapes with the winds, providing a veil from the sun’s radiation and a vital resource for our ecosystems.

One can be enamored by their beauty, softness, thickness, shapes, and sizes as they can keep us busy with their elaborate games for ages. Irrespective of their size, they’re essential for life on this planet, acting as cooling and heating agents.

Scientists are baffled by their role in our lives. Several satellites are trying to figure out how important they’re to control climate change and keep us safe from the disastrous effects of climate change.

“Clouds in the sky very much resemble the thoughts in our minds! Both changes perpetually from one second to another!” Mehmet Murat Ildan

Clouds represent a perpetual cycle of change to reassure us about interconnectedness, transformation, and metamorphosis, just like the metaphors used for them. Sometimes they are referred to as pillows, sheep, and sponges.

Undoubtedly, some negative connotations come to mind when we think about clouds like a bad omen (dark clouds on the horizon), as well. On the other hand, some of us are perpetual daydreamers, also referred to as those with heads in the clouds.

However, my relationship with the clouds can be best described in this quote:

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” Rabindranath Tagore

I was on cloud nine to read this prompt because deciphering the art of the sky is one of my favorite past times. When I don’t want to read, listen, or think about anything, the sky becomes my giant television screen with unparalleled entertainment representing seven kinds of imagery.

  1. They epitomize visual imagery, where one can write an entire story about their antics. Here they look like a bunch of teenagers singing their hearts out in the concert-watch out for the lighting band behind them.

2. The whistling winds make the clouds perform like gigantic waves moving gently from side to side enticing us to join them:

This post is written in response to Dr. Preeti Singh’s nature-inspired prompt for Reciprocal:

Sincere thanks to the editors of Reciprocal: Sahil Patel, Dr. Preeti Singh, and Yana Bostongirl for their constant encouragement and support.

Today, I have to give a shoutout to two marvelous posts:

Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar’s article is full of fantastic facts, fabulous poetry, and fantabulous images of clouds.

Neera Handa Dr’s article made fascinating connections between the past and the present by using clouds as a metaphor.

Forever grateful to everyone for your precious time and generous support. Stay blessed, motivated, and live your life to the fullest. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
