TRAVEL WRITING PROMPT
The Fascinating Sky
Share your experiences of being in or around the skies

The sky has been fascinating to people for decades. Something that appears so far, yet sometimes is closer than you think. The colors of the sky can be mind-blowingly spectacular, especially during twilight. And then are all these hours we spent these days high up in the sky. Flying in between and above the clouds.
I would like to know what your most impressive and memorable experience of the sky is. What is something you did in the sky, or involving the sky, that make an impression on you? Was it a sunset that you watched at 40,000 feet on a long-haul flight above the Pacific? Or maybe you felt as if you touched the sky after you conquered a high mountain. Or maybe you daringly leapt from a plane to do stunts and acrobatics in the sky.
For me, the sky is my office. As a skydiving instructor, I spend a lot of time high up in the sky. And I know how changeable the skies can be. The weather plays a big role, but so does the time of the day and the location. I love the sky.
What about you? What is your connection to the sky? It doesn’t even have to involve any adrenaline-filled story. It could be a day you were lying in a meadow watching the clouds in the sky moving by. Or have you witnessed spectacular cloud formations or changes in the sky? I am sure you will come up with a story.
Share with us a personal experience that connects you to the sky. Sometimes the sky is covered by clouds and clouds are all we get of the sky. Add some photographs, if you have them, and describe your adventure.
The fascinating sky.

And now to announce the winner of our last writing prompt #naturalwonders. We had a total of 11 submissions over the past two weeks. And I’m telling you, those articles added a lot of new destinations to my travel list.
Such marvelous places you have described and presented in the most creative ways. Again, it was a real challenge for the editors to choose a favorite one.
But, a winner has been selected and chosen the best of the lot by every editor of our team. It is a compelling, thoughtful piece of writing we all enjoyed.
Congrats to Jack Road! “Marveling at the Maldives”. Your story won over our hearts.
“I watched stingrays dilly-dally in the waters near my shores, never daring to hover too close. I snorkeled in the waters of the lagoon, catching sight of a rich diversity of fish. I watched the open blue skies and the dancing traces of faint clouds that sent shadows into the sparkling waters that surrounded me.” — Jack Road
Jack will now receive a prime position on our blog with this article and the next submitted article will receive priority publishing, one of our editing services offered in the Patreon packages.
