The Farmer’s Day Trip to London Toun
Once upon a time in England.

Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 32 Word Is Dell
On a farm in the dell, one farmer’s family grew weary of their repetitive chores.
They decided to take a trip to London toun. They hooked up their horse and buggy, and off they went.
Little Ena yelled, “Wait, I’ve forgotten my Stanley.”
“Who’s Stanley,” papa asked.
They were amazed by how many motorized buggies there were. Many honked and waved — some with just one finger.
They saw the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace but were happy to be back home again.
“Hi-ho, the derry-o.” The family takes a vow — not to go back.
My family name, Dalton, comes from the Olde English, “the farmer from over the hill in the dell.” But my paternal grandmother was a full Scot from the Fraser clan. My father’s name was Angus Fraser Dalton. We’ve come a long way from the days of William Wallace.
The featured image is Wallace’s Well.
“The Scots bard Blind Harry first mentioned the Wallace Well in his poem The Actes and Deidis of the Illustre and Vallyeant Campioun Schir William Wallace, better known as The Wallace.” — Wikipedia.
When I was stationed in England, I went to the Wallace Well and the Fraser Castle.
A drabble is exactly 100 words, no more, no less. In this case, the random word to build the story around is “dell.”
