The Fake Ladder Of Life We All Shouldn’t Go For
Time will be the reward!
Get a safe job! Don’t take risks! Don’t make mistakes!
We all have this dream at least once. Spend years at school, school degree, get a good job, an excellent weekly paycheck to be happy. After that, get married, have family, children. It’s all good.
I remember when I was a teenager at the school when my teacher was giving his class, I was wondering what I am doing here.watching my teacher to pretend that I was interested in what he was saying. The reality was that I was thinking about what I am going to eat after class.
My father used to say if you really want to be successful in life, you don’t need to go to school. At that moment, I thought he just didn’t want to spend money on my education. I thought it was easier for him. Nowadays, I am thinking about it, and realize that he was right.
The ladder that we have to follow is a choice for everyone, but sometimes we believe that we have only that choice to become successful in life.
Firstly, success is relative to everyone. Some people consider success if they are happy at home with their family or having a good relationship with their partner or having a lot of money, which is also right. It depends on your values. You have to be transparent, defining your values to be explicit about what success means for you.
I was wondering how people who have no education degree come relatively successful in life. Definitively, college isn’t for everyone, so it’s important to open up the conversation with students about alternative routes to career and life success.
Self-reliance, patience, and passion are just a few of the top qualities of highly successful people, and it turns out we can acquire these traits both with and without a college education.
Let’s see some ideas to consider.
Plenty of Successful People Didn’t Need College Degrees
This isn’t something new; there is a lot of people that achieve success without a college degree. I believe that when you put attention on something and focus on it, you can be a master in that area.
Let’s get something clear: I’m not saying you’re going to be successful without a college degree. Instead, I’m telling you that you don’t need a college degree to be successful.
“It’s not your blue blood, your pedigree, or your college degree. It’s what you do with your life that counts” — Millard Fuller
You’ll Learn More In The Real World Than You Will in The Classroom
Nobody can prepare you to do things right. You have to practice for yourself, and that’s is the best way ever to learn. You learn by doing, not by watching somebody tell you how it’s done.
I remember after study my system engineer career and got a job before finished it. I learned everything in six months, and I felt that I wasted my five years studying rather than practice right away. As the author Robert. T. Kiyosaki in his book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” says
“In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk” — Robert. T. Kiyosaki
This book should be a must to read for all the students.
Degrees Are Becoming Less Important to Employers
The sad truth is that an employer will prefer someone with expertise in the area rather than someone with has a school degree with no expertise. Nowadays, employers don’t spend time reading a resume. They think the time is the most important they have, so they need someone to be ready to work.
Employers don’t want to teach you how to do the thing; they just are expecting you to work and show results. To get that, you should be practicing each moment to shape your skills.
You’ll Use Very Little of What You Learn in College in Your Actual Career
I’ve never had to apply chemistry to anything. As I said everything that I know now, I learn from searching on google, some youtube videos, or courses online.
I always was wondering why all schools don’t teach us how to find out what skill we can develop according to our personality. This will be an outstanding course rather than a lot of information that will be useless in life. The truth is we should know a little about a lot.
Do You Even Know Why You’re Going to College?
As you saw at the beginning of this post, we’re just on autopilot. I think it’s easier the way how it’s. It’s easy not to be aware of the ladder of our parents, or the education system introduced us without asking if It’s worthy of spending years learning something that you will use only once or twice in your real life.
Most people go along with the crowd. They do things because everybody else does it. Don’t take me wrong. I’m not saying you will be successful without a college degree. I just think that you don’t need a college degree to be successful. Finally, wherever life takes you, be the best you can be.
