Dr. Preeti Singh always dazzles me with her spectacular nature-inspired prompts, but this week’s prompt is even more exceptional as it made me write a life lesson piece. Or should we say, touch the base of the most popular topic-self-help piece?

I don’t know how to classify my response, but it comes from extensive observation of the stars whenever life allowed me to spend time outside or in the planetariums.

Staring at the shining diamonds in the sky helped me not to be affected by the mundane as I feel so small and insignificant in the vastness of our galaxy.

Dark phases of life might make us lose hope in our capabilities. Dread might surround us, fogging our rational thoughts. Deep-rooted insecurities might swell up to dominate the mental space. A dull mood in these circumstances gives rise to disillusionment.

Doubts overwhelm our thinking patterns, and the debacles of yesterday hallow the excitement of an unseen future. Don’t worry when the skies get darker, as the magic begins at that moment. Stars shine the brightest when the moon retires for the night.

Look up to motivate yourselves. Let the deluge of tears clear the muddiness of the heart. Learn from the trillions of stars who are moving, evolving, and growing by the minute in our universe — light up the sad corners of the soul by enjoying the sparkles above us.

Never get upset about the hard work, honesty, and humility that went unnoticed by others- these qualities enhance our essence like the stars. Nudge yourselves to rise beyond expectations to claim your place under the skies with the stars. Nothing can hinder the path if the intentions are right to reach the skies and touch the stars.

Worries should be kept aside; if the fame takes a long time to come, remember forever, greatness is guaranteed to everyone; if not convinced, take advice from the stars.

Wonderful talents would not be wasted, keep giving the best, if not in agreement, study the qualities of the stars. Widen the scope of knowledge to be relevant for posterity; if not inspired, get the wisdom from the stars.

Stop talking for some seconds, pay attention to others in need, and be a good listener like the stars. Stop comparing and complaining for a few moments, pause and admire the present, and be courteous like the stars.

Stop hoarding the stuff that could be shared, and be a generous host like the stars. Step outside the narrow confines of the self, and be a star in someone else’s life.

More powerful than the imagination is the worth of every living being, it’s not okay to select one over the other. Do the stars pick and choose? More magnanimous than the parameters of humility is the ideal of the universe; it’s alright to be generous. Do the stars act in any other way than benevolence?

More glamorous than the limited reality is the vision of the Only One; it’s not logical to judge anyone based on class, color, and creed. Do the stars ever discriminate?

Many have gone and found serenity, solace, and solutions. A painter sought inspiration in the shadows of sparking skies and painted The Starry Night (Van Gogh).

“For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.” Vincent Van Gogh.

An astronomer became obsessed with the sky and discovered the individual stars of the Milky way (Galileo Galilei).

“I’ve loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.” Galileo Galilei.

A philosopher’s quest for greatness led him to uncover the secret of becoming unique.

“A star does not compete with other stars; it just shines.” Matshona Dhliway.

A satiated soul beckons all to devote a little time under the starry skies and blossom in the silence of stellar celestial entities. ❤️❤️
