“We must make haste,” said Dara, her eyes glancing toward the sound of the approaching army.

An hour later, you, Dara, Bruno, and Scruff are leading a group of a few dozen villagers into the forest. By now, the distant sounds of battle grow louder, and you can’t help but feel guilty for leaving the others behind.

As you trek through the forest, you come upon a breakaway group of orcs. Bruno mutters under his breath, “Deserters,” and spits on the ground.

They are armed and ready for a fight but look disorganized and demoralized.
