The CODEX is the message
Prompt examples

Philosophers have prepared a basic code for the technology of the beginning 21st century. August 10th 2021 changes everything.
Where will this all lead? No one knows yet. The world has already changed, and it’s hard to say where it’s going to go from here. Anyone can create anything they can think of, and almost anyone can buy/sell that creation with ease. There are no barriers other than the ones you impose on yourself through your own decisions.
The philosophical roots of the AI revolution
René Girard, Marshall McLuhan, and Ayn Rand are three philosophers who provide the philosophical foundation for the creators of the largest contemporary platforms, not just social networks.
Three books
The book ‘The medium is the message’ by Marshall McLuhan is the philosophical foundation of social networks. Marshall McLuhan was a Canadian communications theorist who was born on November 30th, 1909. He coined the term “global village” in 1960 to describe television’s ability to create a worldwide community because of its ability to link every place into one large network. Medium by McLuhan was for many people the starting point for the narrative of the Internet.
McLuhan’s books are regarded as timeless, philosophical, and insightful. They were written playfully and informally as if they were his ideas on life. McLuhan’s work is considered as an important contribution to our understanding of cyberspace and global communication, and as a new paradigm for designing global communication systems.
René Girard is a French essayist and philosopher who was born on April 15th, 1922. The French writer is primarily known for his controversial theory of anthropology which is called “mimetic desire”. His works have been translated into 31 languages and published in more than 40 countries. “Violence and the Sacred” is a book that provides the philosophical foundation for platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Likes and shares, retweets and tweets — each of them is a means to spread violence. Rene Girard’s books are deeply misunderstood. He has written very little, but that is what people read. A closer look shows how much he has influenced the culture of the information age, and how much he influenced the culture of technology companies.
Ayn Rand was another technological trendsetter that predicted some important aspects of the technology that we use today. The book ‘Atlas Shrugged’ by Ayn Rand is the philosophical foundation for social networks. Ayn Rand created her version of religion by creating what she called Objectivism which, in her view, is ethical egoism.
Ayn Rand is the philosopher who created a concept quite similar to what we call today ‘privacy’. She believed that privacy is an absolute right for every human being. It is not a modern concept, but one that she had already formulated more than 70 years ago.
Ayn Rand stated in a TV interview of 1959:
“I am primarily the creator of a new CODE of morality which has so far been believed impossible — namely, a morality not based on faith, not on emotion, not on arbitrary edicts, mystical or social, but reason.”
Philosophers have prepared a basic philosophical code for the technology of the beginning 21st century.
Time for a new CODE
The three thinkers did not invent social networks but each of them has a crucial contribution to the philosophical foundations of social networks. Because of that, they are the theoreticians behind the “mindset” of these platforms.
The evolution of the Internet has brought with it a tremendous evolution of technology and communication, and has contributed to our ability to develop machine learning at such a rapid pace.
And we have arrived on August 10, 2021, a date that will go down in history. On that day, OpenAI released CODEX, a tool for generating code with simple descriptive sentences.
At MLearning.ai, we work on solutions for the creative industry. The tool CODEX is a holy grail that will erase everything. All the rules have changed. Below you can see an example.
Imagine that the modern world is a game with set rules and principles. The most important thing is the playing field. Everyone accepts its size and shape. Codex changed it like in the movie, just a few words to change the playing field to a new shape not known before and it changes every 2 seconds.
What will you do if tomorrow, once again, the playing field of your life changes ?
