EDITOR’S WEEKLY PICK -3

The Bubbles Of Joy. ‘Spring Is Here to uplift our spirits’

It is a beautiful time of the year

The photo was taken by the author in the garden

Dear Friends,

I am back again to wish you and greet you with a new spirit. The spirit of joy. I am always feeling bubbly and especially now that we have the’ Spring festival in India’. Let us find out why spring is so special.

The significance of the spring festival

Spring is here. In India, we have the celebration of spring on a particular date every year. This year 2022, the date falls on the 5th of February.

This festival is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, and Christians in India. It is celebrated with a lot of fanfare and celebrations. We all wear shades of yellow, eat yellow rice, and have yellow flowers on all the temples, churches, shrines, and gardens.

The color yellow is the landmark of the spring festival. It is also celebrated when the mustard crop is ready to be harvested. People wear yellow clothes on the day as the color of flowers of the ripe mustard crops is also yellow.

The spring festival is called Basant Panchami in India and it is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the bright half of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Magha. This is usually at the end of January or the beginning of February. It is usually cold and it marks the coming of spring that is considered in India to be the “King of all Seasons”. the festival is in honor of welcoming spring which comes after forty days.

The day is also marked by the celebration of the Goddess Sarasvati who is the Goddess of education. All readers, writers, students, teachers, booksellers and, educational institutes celebrate this festival by performing pooja (prayer) with dances, songs, and various entertainment programs.

So this is your day dear writers. Join me in the celebrations.

On this day what else can I think of but Bubbles of Joy? and I think since I am a happy person this fits in with me and I am fully immersed in celebrating it.

While I was writing this little piece and picking 3 articles that had touched me this week, believe me, it was really hard as Coffee Times has excellent writers and wonderful articles.

I read a beautiful sunrise message This was a fit description by the soothing voice of Lady Dr. Gabriella Korosi to go out in the sun and enjoy the magical morning.

I looked out and the sun was beautiful in Delhi too. Yesterday was a dull, dim cold, and rainy day. It was the coldest day in February in the last 14 years.

Today it was brighter and better. Her message reflected my mood too. As I see the magical morning, I invite you to listen to her beautiful words. You will also get infected with bubbles of joy and definitely feel one with nature like I did.

Do go out and stretch yourself in nature. I went out, stretched myself and took a walk, and felt really good. I felt the bubbles of joy. My spirit was uplifted.

I know in many parts of the world it is snowing and it is under a lot of ice formation. I read several stories yesterday that said that they had stocked food and supplies and were afraid of power outages and havoc that can happen due to blizzards. I pray for them to have a wonderful day too and hope that everyone is fine there too.

Let me now write about three stories that I read during the week and recommend you to read them.

The editors pick for this week (29th -4th Feb 2022)

Libby Shively McAvoy wrote a beautiful article about her personal struggles. Amidst all the challenges that she faced, she wrote an article that says How to Accomplish Becoming the Courageous Joyful Person You Aspire to Be

The second article is by Braised & Blanched by Le Voir. The Night Belongs to Medium, Not Michelob. She has decided to be a better person in 2022. which was by putting herself first above all things. In her words:

“Developing S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Bounded) goals for 2022, one of my objectives is checking back at the end of each month on how I am sticking to my mantras. I am the proud, unofficial spokesperson for change, gratitude, love, and alignment”.

Do read the experiences faced by an immigrant Drashti Shroff who had to convert Euros to Rupees or Rupees to Euros to make purchases and the decisions to take to buy products while calculating currency in the other country. Many travelers will identify with the problems of currency exchange and choice of purchases.

I would like to give a shout out to Dr. Fatima Imam for her inspiration and stylish morning poem — Exuberance

I read an article by Christina 4 Tips To Help You Find Your Authentic Self. In her words

“You don’t need another person’s permission to follow your heart — to do what feels right to you, and what feeds and nourishes your soul”.

To conclude

I am always feeling bubbly and energetic like the bubbles of joy coming out of the soap suds.

I have a question to ask you? Everyone is competing and opening newsletters and I am reading excellent stories.

I am thinking, “Should I start a newsletter too on Substack”?

Not as a competitor to any challenges but like a tortoise falling behind the race slowly go up and start one?

“What do you say shall I settle on Bubbles of Joy as its name?”

Ending in a happy tone with butterflies dancing.
