The Boundaries on Anger and Love
Prompted poetry that challenges your assumptions

To express love can be a beautiful thing, to show that there is truly beauty in the world.
To express anger may not be a beautiful thing, but it highlights that in beauty there are flaws, and in flaws there is a truth that should not be sugar-coated.
The limit with expressing love is that by showing love, you do not solely rely on others to fulfill your needs especially in absence of consent, to understand that your right to love is just as important as another’s right to deny consent.
The limit of expressing anger is that by expressing anger, you do not solely expect others to soothe your anger for you. To understand that in anger you are amplifying an unheard message, to understand when to stop when your message is falling on deaf ears, not because your message is insignificant nor because it isn’t urgent, but because your mental health matters too, and that this will be a long fight.
To express love and to express anger are just two messages common to the human experience.
May we not stigmatize either expression while understanding limits and boundaries, to focus on communicating a message that is truly received.
