The Bias Between The Public Demonstration Of Anger And Love

When a display of aggression is acceptable, then why not Love?

Image by Andrea Baratella from Pixabay

People are okay to exhibit aggression in public But the act of love- a hug or kiss is regarded as immoral and obscene

No public display of affection It is an act that corrupt children But the scornful anger and cussing is perfectly acceptable

The Society said: “Hey, you ignorant How can the abuse impact a child It is so inherent and absorbed The spiteful hate is more agreeable than the blissful, radiating love

Do you want to go against us You are just a puny and imbecile Don’t forget we have numbers But you on other hand is just single

The power lies not in Love but in control and we have done that for centuries Have you not seen how we have waged wars Was that possible, if only love prevailed”

Why we are so tied to the mob mentality Who told us that public kiss is immorality Why we follow their rules of partiality If anger is so easily displayed without the judgment What wrong has love done in its part

The world needs Love more than ever If children are shielded by love Exposed to the anger and hatred Making them vulnerable Depreciating their beautiful hearts

The choice lies in oneself Look within, what you prefer Are you also tied to the bias where anger is more permissible rather than sprinkling love

A shout, abuse, slap, fight boiling blood and rage is common Even public killing is approved by some governments

Where blood dripping is commonly seen But a wet kiss is shamefully perceived You can cuss loudly to a stranger But a heartfelt moment with a lover is looked at as sinful

What a fondness of blind society Making rules of fear and hatred And panic on the blissful love

Break the mentality Break from mob hypnosis Break free from partiality Break from society’s imbibition

Look carefully, choose wisely It will not only break free you But the next generation too Only love sets you free Nothing else, nothing else!

This difference in acceptability between the two appalled me. If you like the idea, you may also write on the prompt “Anger and Love”.

I’d love to read some of my favorite writers to write on this prompt: Darshak Rana, Anthi Psomiadou, Beth Stormont, Lucy The Eggcademic (she/her), Melissa Bee, Priyanka Srivastava, Francine Fallara, Thomas Plummer, Amy Marley, Carolyn Riker, Imad, Charlotte Zobeir Ali, Lanu Pitan, Manasi Diwakar, Sneha Mankar, James G Brennan, Bernadette DeCarlo, Susannah MacKinnie, America Zed, William J Spirdione.

I’d like to highlight an earnest poem on seeking the Truth, by my fellow friend Imad:

And a beautiful sonnet by William J Spirdione:

Poetry
Love
Society
Self Inquiry
