Are you tired of trying to get into the huge publications on Medium? Some of them can be notoriously difficult and picky about what they accept.

I don’t even bother trying to get into the Medium-owned ones myself. But then again I have the patience of a fruit fly and they’re known to take up to a month to reply.

But here’s an alternative solution for you similar folks out there. Jump on the bandwagon of the fastest-growing publications!

And don’t worry, I made a huge list to help you find the ones that are flying up the charts at the highest rates.

  • *I’ve since updated the list to include 54 publications on July 16, 2020

What’s in the Publication List?

I started by searching through a list of the 255 fastest-growing publications. I then checked if they are actively accepting writers and included them in this listicle.

The below is ordered from fastest to slowest growing. The sizes of each are quite varied as you’ll see.

I’ve included the following information for readers:

  • The number of followers rounded to the nearest 1,000.
  • The rate of growth per day (this varies over time of course).
  • The homepage link.
  • The submission page link.
  • A list of useful tags if you want to write on the publication.
  • A brief descriptor of the publication.
  • The owners or editors.

How to Use This List?

Some people might just be curious to see what the fast-growth publications look like, at least the active ones that still accept writers.

For people interested in finding new places to publish their work, this can also be pretty useful.

One potential strategy is to find a smaller or medium-sized publication below.

As they’re growing faster than other publications on Medium — but are still accepting writers and not yet huge — it could be a great place to jump on the bandwagon while it’s still early.
