The № 1 Advice I Had Ignored And I’m Glad I Did

Despite what everybody thinks.

When it comes to love and feelings, I don’t let anybody influence me, and the reason is very simple.

How can someone know how I feel better than myself? How could such a thing even be possible? I find that merely impossible.

If I were to listen to all the unsolicited advice, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to meet Ana. She turned out to be the love of my life.

Want to know which is the № 1 advice I had ignored? Keep reading!

Ana seemed cute and smart from the beginning, but she had a horror background. She lived in a different country; she was in the middle of a difficult divorce and had kids that will get dragged in all her love life changes.

If she were to be with me, Ana had to give up everything that makes her comfortable and bet all-in on a new and different love story. Regular people don’t usually do that.

But enough about Ana, this story is about me, Ryan. (I hate using the 3rd person when I write about myself, but I sometimes do that.)

I am a smart, handsome, and free young man that has big ambitions. Why on Earth would I want to be with a soon-not-to-be-married-anymore woman who lives in a different country and has children?

The answer is simple. It’s because…

  • … I love the way she makes me feel.
  • … I love that she is stubborn enough to pick fights with me when she is right, and I’m not.
  • … I love that she makes me want to fight for the things I care about.
  • … I love that she has the capacity to help me when I’m down.
  • … I love all the things we do together.
  • … I love the way we support each other to evolve.
  • … I love the way we communicate.
  • … I love watching her smile with her entire face.
  • … I love the way we work together.
  • … I love that she is my work partner, my best friend, and my lover, all at the same time.

Yes, I know. You clicked this article to find out which is the № 1 advice I ignored.

Can’t you guess which that is?

People tend to judge a lot and to evaluate things in accordance with their life experience. I feel that nobody is capable of truly understanding my relationship with Ana, but despite this, everybody around me is throwing away free, unsolicited advice.

They all say she would make my life complicated and would bring me more trouble than joy, but I still do things my way.

I’ve learned that, when it comes to feelings, nobody can know how I feel better than myself.

If it wasn’t obvious already…

The № 1 advice I had ignored was to stop my feelings for Ana and look for a more uncomplicated relationship.

Simple doesn’t always mean better, you know? I was even told that our relationship has 1% chances of success and I, crazy as I am sometimes, found the odds encouraging enough not to quit.
