Thanking Seasons, Nature, Sunrises & Sunsets

Nature is always alive and growing, showing, caring, feeding, beautifying, etc, helping us in every way it can.

Writing Prompts February 28 to March 4: What is your favorite season of the year, and why is that the case?

I was reading this piece by Melanie J. I, too, have a favorite season. But it depends on where in the world I am. In Jamaica, the weather is taken for granted. For 99% of the time, the sun keeps its promise in a sunset that it will be back tomorrow.

A Sunrise for hope, it shares the following morning.

The rain blessed us, often giving new life to plants while renewing and rejuvenating earth. Fruit trees are in almost every yard. Farmers can grow their crops. Nature feeds us.

Flowers bloom throughout the year. Nature gives smiles, beautifies, and releases aromas from the plants we grow.

I can walk to the seaside, witness and photograph sunrises and sunsets.

Children can play outside at school and in their yards.

People are constantly moving, many not thinking about Nature or seasons. Nature is often ignored here.

My country’s seasonal changes are mild, so no preparation for change is necessary. Again, Nature is taken for granted.

In my other country, Summer and Fall are my favorite. Being born on a tropical island, I don’t like being cold. So I am alive in the summer. Fall eases me into winter, slowly giving me a few months to prepare for the cold. In New York, the people hide in the winter and show themselves in the summer. I wasn’t aware that so many people lived in my neighborhood from their gathering in the summertime. Lol.

In New York, Nature isn’t taken for granted. Neither are the seasons. They are respected, appreciated, and planned for — all four of them. They also have income-earning possibilities. The seasons keep many people focused on their environments and changes in certain countries. I have the best of both worlds, allowing me to see more value in Nature’s seasons and appreciate our world and the gifts it shares more.

Special thanks to Trista Signe Ainsworth for giving us more to be thankful for.

Today, I am thanking nature and seasons for making my life and living enjoyable.
