GRIEF | COMFORT | DAILY DOABLE

Tears Are The Silent Language of Grief

A language that speaks louder than words.

I don’t know about you but if I had to guess, it’s possible you have the same trepidation when it comes to comforting a grieving friend as I do.

What I mean by that is I know I want to comfort my friend but I’m afraid I won’t know what to say. Have you ever felt that way? It’s frustrating.

I have a new perspective on this based on my own personal experience.

After my Dad’s passing, friends who came to the funeral home to comfort me didn’t have to say anything because the tears in their eyes said everything I needed to hear.

It’s just as Voltaire said.

Tears are the silent language of grief.

I’m reminded of the verse in scripture that says.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. ~Romans 12:15

Daily Doable: Don’t hold back your tears when comforting a friend. They need to HEAR your grief. Trust me, it WILL comfort them. I know.

If you enjoyed this Inspire Point, I would like to invite you to read a story about a conversation I had with a friend who wanted to comfort me.

This Inspire Point and Daily Doable were brought to you by Tim Maudlin. Please allow me to introduce myself.
