Sweaty Ralph
A random generator poetry prompt and poem response

Sweaty from sitting in this seat for an hour and a half, catching Ralph trying to plagiarize, stifling a laugh, staring at the floor, avoiding my glare, his single earbud glistening ‘coz he lost his other pair, thinking his blue, green and purple hair makes him most unique, I’d fling him to the satellites if I wasn’t a marshmallow — weak.
Continuing to build up my rhyme game using the random word generator! Each week, I challenge myself to build rhyming technique by randomly selecting six words, and writing a short piece that has some sort of rhyming scheme. I use this online rhyming dictionary to help me out, but it’s up to you whether you want to use this one, or any rhyming support at all.
The words that were randomly selected for this week’s prompt include:
- Half
- Plagiarize
- Pair
- Floor
- Unique
- Satellite
If you try out this challenge, be sure to tag me in your piece! I’d love to see how others spun these six incredibly unrelated words!
Hi I’m Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) and I remember the days that I’d catch people trying to copy off my tests in those sweaty summer exam rooms. While it is true that I am a marshmallow, I have seldom truly felt as annoyed as to fling someone into the stars. The only thing that’s really gotten close is when some guy opened a bag of chips and ate it, right then and there, all exam. No one stopped him. He just crunched and crumpled his way through the entire exam. I wanted to pull out my hair.
