Namaste! I’m Radhika. Come February — March and it’s pickle season in India. Mangoes make their appearance on trees and some are harvested raw to create a variety of pickles that last through the year.

Each recipe has different ingredients and different methods — tweaked and perfected through generations. Children who are on their year-end break particularly enjoy pilfering pickles being sunned on the terrace tops.

Successfully escaping with some pickle-bounty, or, being caught in the act are all cherished childhood memories.
