Summary

The web content presents a poem titled "subterranea" exploring a recurring dream of a stark, cold, subterranean world, accompanied by links to related stories.

Abstract

The poem "subterranea" delves into the narrator's experiences in a dream world characterized by concrete, shadowy alleys, and endless escalators. This dreamscape evokes feelings of fear and power, as the narrator holds onto an elusive knowledge that slips away upon waking. Each night, the dreamer confronts the same existential questions, resigned to re-enter the dreamy world in an attempt to unravel the mystery of their recurring nocturnal journey. The content also features links to other narratives, such as "Healing in the Jungle," "Conquistadora," and "Lost and Found," each with its own thematic exploration of personal journeys and realizations.

Opinions

  • The poem suggests a sense of duality, with the dream world being both frightening and empowering.
  • There is an underlying theme of the search for understanding and self-discovery, as the narrator tries to grasp a forgotten truth from the dream.
  • The repeated nature of the dream indicates a cycle of questioning and exploration that the narrator is compelled to endure nightly.
  • The accompanying stories hint at a broader narrative of transformation and introspection

subterranea

a poem

into the dreamworld I go

to a subterranean world of concrete and shadow alleys

escalators going to somewhere or nowhere

it feels stark and cold

I’m frightened yet I feel powerful

because i know something in this dream

that I forget as soon as I wake up

what am I doing? where am I going? why does this dream repeat every night?

all I can do is go to sleep another night

and enter this dreamy world and try to remember how to get out
