Introduction

Hello from “New Writers Welcome.” We are a publication dedicated to giving new writers on Medium the platform to learn and develop their writing skills and help set a foundation to flourish.

We understand that it can be difficult when you start your writing career, so let us help and guide you through this new process; we have a motto #Strongertogether.

We ask you to remember NWW when you become successful. Remember how you started and the editors and writers who helped you on your journey.

What Topics We Will Not Accept

We enter a new era for the publication, so from the 1st of January, 2024, we will not accept the following topics:

Our editors will automatically reject these topics, and they will refer you to this page if you need any clarification. We will only publish up to 20 articles a day; this will help ensure that our writers get a fair share of reading time for their articles.

Submission Rules

Please note that personal stories are encouraged and will take priority over other topics.

1. Articles will be accepted in a draft format only.

2. All submissions must be spelling and grammar-checked and completely free of plagiarism and AI writing.

3. All must adhere to the Medium curation guidelines. This includes linking sources, correctly crediting photographs, and correctly using titles and subtitles.

4. Editor feedback is designed to help you; please respect that you will be banned if you delete the editor’s notes.

5. Allow up to 48 hours for your article to get published.

6. You must use a “Title, “ a “Subtitle, “ and a credited “Picture” in your article. A maximum of two lines.

7. Please use “New Writers Welcome” as one of your tags.

8. All must be formatted appropriately

9. We will only publish 20 articles daily, so please be patient; we respect that writers would like their fair share of reading time.

10. We are here to encourage new writers to grow their skills and therefore wish to encourage you to consider how your content comes across. How valuable is it for the audience, and what is the purpose or message (call to action).

11. All published articles are at our discretion, and we have the final decision.

12. Please cite all sources if referring to a claim or quote.

13. Please disclose any affiliate links. A maximum of three referral/self-promotional links are allowed. Links which support facts are not counted towards this number. Tagging other writers is allowed, provided they have a connection with your article. Mass tagging to achieve “reads” will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

14. Plagiarism and AI writing are unacceptable and will result in you being removed as a writer.

15. Please disclose if you have imported your article from another website. The original source must be credited and written by you.

16. If you do not respond to a private note within 48 hours, your article will be rejected.

17. We only accept articles from writers who “allow private notes.” Writers who do not allow notes will be removed as writers.

18. Articles must be written in English.

19. Tagging another writer must be relevant to your article. Excessive tagging will cause your article to be declined. If you are part of a writing challenge, we will accept a maximum of ten tags.

20. Personal stories will get accelerated and take priority over other topics.

21. Your article must end with a conclusion/takeaway or question for the reader.
