Strengths & Weaknesses

KTHT Challenge Prompt March 23rd

The theme of strength and weakness is running amok in my thoughts lately. Between my online class assignments and the two most recent weekly prompts by Spyder and Ravyne Hawke, I have fallen smack dab into the abyss of heavy contemplation. It is bringing my circus of monkeys to town. The pesky chatter screaming loudly.

Tightrope walkers balancing on the high wire. Clowns juggling all the balls of choice in the air. The lion tamer pulling up the courage to step into the dark jaws of change. The announcer analyzing defying acts of death to a long-held dream.

Two weeks ago, my online class assignment was to do a SWOT analysis about myself. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) The strength and weaknesses are internal choices while the opportunities and threats are outside influences.

Stepping back and looking closely at my life under the SWOT microscope became life changing. It brought clarity and understanding to who I really am and how out of alignment some things are. It created a pivot point of the direction and awareness that the judgmental monkey circus controlled. But, I will get to that in a few future posts.

For now, I encourage you to step into the circus ring with me and look at your perceived strengths and weaknesses.

The Prompt

Submit an article about your personal strengths, weaknesses, or both. Don’t just list them. Tell us why you perceive them that way and what, if any, changes you want or need to make surrounding the why.

You can get as creative as you wish. Just make sure you keep our publication themes in mind (spirituality, metaphysics, mindfulness, life lessons, self-love/care/awareness, conscious relationships, nature).

Recommendations

As stated in our previous challenges, the basic recommendations for your articles are as follows:

  1. Use the prompt to write a poem or personal essay.
  2. (Tag) Mention at least (3) three of your favorite writers (here at KTHT or elsewhere on Medium) and ask them to participate. Each of those writers will then mention at least (3) three more, and so on.
  3. You may submit your story to KTHT or to any publication that allows prompts from other publications.
  4. Regardless of where you submit your piece, You MUST include a link back to this page and (Tag) mention one or all of the KTHT editors — Diana C., Spyder, Ravyne Hawke, jules

And if you haven’t had time to look at Ravyne Hawke or Spyder’s prompts, I highly recommend it.
