Personal Growth Through Courage
KTHT Weekly Prompts March 14 — March 18
Around the world today, we are seeing acts of courage everywhere — from world leaders, ordinary citizens, militaries, women, minority groups, people who are still considered less-thans, and even children battling crippling diseases.
Courage is defined as:
The ability to do something that frightens one, and strength in the face of pain or grief.
We can find courage in the smallest of places or in mass demonstrations. However, courage ultimately begins with you. Within your own personal growth. This week’s prompts will encourage you to dig a little deeper into your own personal life and the cadre of close affiliations, be they friends, community leaders, or family. This week is all about courage — small or large.
As you reflect on the following prompts, ask yourself how each prompt can move you forward in your personal growth. Some of these prompts may resonate easily with you. Others may not. Feel free to use whichever ones spark deep thoughts and write using them.
THE PROMPTS
- The courage of curiosity
- Who is the most courageous person you know? Why are they courageous?
- Which fear would you rather choose courage over cowardice?
- Write about a time when you found courage through pain or grief.
And for the bonus prompt this week, use the following quote as a spark:
Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. ― August Wilson
Remember, there is no right or wrong way to use these prompts. Feel free to write poetry or an essay. The intention is merely to look at ourselves and reflect through writing.
There will be more prompts coming soon. Please remember to tag one or all of the editors when you use one of these prompts. We are Diana C., Spyder, jules, and me, Ravyne Hawke.
Have a blessed week ahead.
