“What happened to your family is about to happen again,” the stranger says.
He introduces his dog as Scruff and himself as Bruno, former Ranger.
“Your friend Dara told me what happened while you were in recovery.” Bruno puffs smoke from his pipe. “The orcs are camped out in the forest, two miles from Five Oaks Village next to the river.”
He leans back.
“We should warn the people that an attack is coming.”
“No.” Dara speaks up for the first time since you awoke. “We’ll slaughter those orcs where they camp. No innocent lives should be put at risk.”
