Summary

The article suggests that writing concise, high-quality content with a reading time of 3 to 5 minutes is more effective on the platform than longer articles.

Abstract

The author of the article argues that new writers on the platform often believe longer articles are beneficial, but experience has shown that shorter, high-quality pieces that can be read in 3 to 5 minutes perform better. The trend of writing long stories may stem from the practices of SEO specialists and site administrators who are accustomed to lengthy blog posts, or from the preference of some big publications and top writers for longer reads. However, the author emphasizes that the focus should be on providing value to the reader through quality content rather than the quantity of words. The article also advises against writing solely for money and suggests that success on the platform is more sustainable when writers aim to educate and inform their audience, rather than chasing views and followers through spamming or keyword stuffing.

Opinions

  • The author believes that articles with a reading time of 3 to 5 minutes are more effective for engaging readers than longer articles.
  • There is a misconception among some freelance writers and bloggers that longer content is inherently better, possibly due to their background in SEO or site administration.
  • The preference for long articles by some big publications and top writers does not necessarily apply to new writers, who should prioritize self-promotion and providing value to readers.
  • Quality should always take precedence over quantity; a well-crafted 300-500 word article can be more impactful than a 2000-word piece with less valuable information.
  • Writers should focus on building a portfolio and reputation for authentic information rather than quick money-making schemes.
  • The article suggests that writing for knowledge dissemination rather than financial gain leads to more sustainable success and a loyal readership.

Stop Writing Long Stories (Content With 3 To 5 Minutes Read Is Enough)

Success on this platform doesn’t depend on long stories…

New writers have one common question: what should be the length of an article. When I started working on this platform, I thought that it would be good to write long articles. However, I have now changed my mind as I know that articles with 3 to 5 minutes read do better than the longer ones.

I am not discouraging people from writing long articles; what I mean to say is that most of the readers do not have much time to read long stories. So, it would be great to keep the reading time between three to five minutes.

Why There Is A Trend Of Writing Long Stories?

I do not know the exact answer to this question, but I think that freelance writers and bloggers believe that long stories can do better on this platform than the short ones. Many of them are probably SEOs or site administrators who have had been publishing long articles on their personal blogs and websites. They have tried to bring the same idea to this platform.

Another possible reason is that some big publications and top writers like long articles. Their reading time is sometimes from 6 to 25 minutes. In the beginning, there is no need to write such lengthy posts. Instead, writers should focus more on self-promotion and must be willing to provide value to their readers.

Remember that an article of 2000 words with no valuable information will not work as efficiently as a post that contains only 300 to 500 words but provides great ideas and information to the reader.

In other words, we can say that the focus of every freelance writer or blogger should be on quality rather than quantity. If you continue writing at least one article daily (with 3 to 5 minutes read), then success will definitely knock your door. Make sure the content is written flawlessly and the reader is provided with great ideas.

Are You Writing For Money?

You may think that I am stupid to ask this question because everybody on this platform is writing for money. However, you should not focus on shortcut ways of making more and more money. Instead, you must pay attention to getting more followers and should provide authentic information to your readers.

Please remember that it is easy to get so many views and that you will start getting lots of fans, but this will not be a long-term success. Sooner or later people will get bored and may unfollow or even block you. So, the best idea is to write every story with 3 to 5 minutes read and help your readers gain more and more knowledge.

Takeaway

The takeaway of the story is that your content should be of the utmost quality. Plus, you should spend more time on social media promotion and SEO than writing too long stories. If quality is provided to the reader and there is no spamming or keyword stuffing, then you will continue getting success and will start making hundreds to thousands of dollars every month.
