Slipped Not
A free-verse poem of false security lost

Safe space erased blinking cursor flash misplaced a pixel a glitch disemboweled in a ditch frozen fled displaced to the coldest edge of space approaching the stillness of zero
Her hero her saviour descending from favour abandoned a post dissipates a ghost lost armour disarmed her unprepared to repair to her muse
Disabused of her fantasy grasping air under sea wondering what will be come in his place how to replace such splendid security he held in obscurity never seen always felt in the reach of a galaxy’s arm
Never harmed yet still hurt crossed feelings in a flirt scrabbled fingers grasping dirt in the garden of a friend where she’s sowing just to mend all the wormholes that have eaten through her heart
Torn apart in time rent mortgaged castles that were spent endings justifying means for futures never seen in the crystal balls of seers in the night
She can’t fight all the bones rattled cages carved from stone as she shivers all alone in this vacuum of her classroom where she scrawls desperate equations to calculate relations she can never actualise in desperation wails cries . erases . dies
