Send Me an Owl
When did you last receive a handwritten letter?

The long slow curl of parchment as it wings its arc to your door an apparition of paper and pen strokes a missive of missing ardour
Sealed with waxed lip kisses perfumed and heavenly
sent
filled with moonbeams and marigolds treasures of maps giant steps and quantum sets a flaxen floc waning tock of atomic clock time
Slicing pen knife releases a wellspring of ache dripping from lines tightly written i’s dotted finely stripping away metaphor’s frigid rigidity revealing a bodice of desire
hemmed in hypnotic hymns novice lover’s prayers angel’s wings and theorised strings heavenly things rolled up hills against will to fill . holes
