Simple Signs You’re Operating Well In Life And This Hard To Navigate Society
Things that caught my attention at 36

Fast, faster, fastest, fasterer!
The last word isn’t grammatically correct, I get it.
Here’s what does matter:
Everyone seems to be in a hurry. And the greater you hurry, the more points you’ll collect at the finish line. However, when you think it through, you’ll realize that there’s no finish line and no rewards to collect, only missed timeframes and opportunities.
The thing is, nobody actually needs to be in a hurry.
Life is now!
I went to the supermarket the other day and what I noticed is that most people either operate like robots following a strict note, others have many problems laughing or being friendly. Everyone has their own personal battles to fight. The people who are working are often undermanned, and it reflects on them as well. It’s a shame, it shouldn’t be like that.
The musts, the needs, the to-do-lists, limited time, the money chase,… Everything necks you and it’s all a part of a system that abuses human energy.
Can you still breathe?
What if I told you there’s a different way to live the life you are presently living in?
Many people live in a rush because they don’t allow themselves to relax. That’s right. Most of your stressed lifestyle is self-evoked. Much of that has to do with being afraid of what others might think. Although 99% of the people are much more busy with themselves than to think about what you’re doing.
It took me a long time to discover this myself. We tend to overcomplicate things and most signs indicating you have your life pretty well on tracks are quite simple. Once you can acknowledge some of these signs it calibrates your senses. It enables you to flow into further progression.
Many people claim that time passes fast, and before you know it you’ve missed out on important events, and important (non-returning) quality time.
Now that you know this, it gives you the idea of the importance of controlling your time.
From a young age, I always found much worth in what the elderly were saying. Not only in what they were explaining but how they reflected on their lives. I noticed many of them have regrets about their approach to life (although regrets shouldn’t be considered only bad). Many of these by the elderly left behind clues I try to incorporate into our lives now even when it’s entirely against my nature. Why? Because when something is against your nature now, doesn’t mean it will always be like that. We change and everything is dynamic.
All of this adds up to the hardship of navigating through life and society.
Here are some simple signs you’re operating well
To get the most out of life it’s important to aim your focus on what’s important.
“Time is our enemy if you let it.”
The Time Of Your Nature Walks And Your Mood
And I hope you often do.
It’s Thursday morning, the weather has been horrendous for more than a week. Nevertheless, I’ve been on a walk with our twins. The weather seemed dry a bit, so I decided to go and hunt for a natural flow state.
And it worked, the walk led me to write this post.
Along the morning walk, I met more than a dozen people, exactly one dozen of them seemed nearly double my age! This got me thinking…
That’s right, most younger people I know are working around this hour. knowing this makes me feel very relaxed and my mood reflects on the kids at that given time as well.
As you might have read in earlier writings, I work Offshore 50% of the year and this job enables me to focus my free time effectively on what’s important. Although this also comes with the downside of being far away from home the other half of the year, missing out on other stuff…
“There will always be sacrifice attached to whatever you do in life, work with it, learn to accept it, and make sure the sacrifice is worth the opposite.”
Of course, more writers on this platform will think this is normal since they earn through their writing already (which isn’t the case for me at this moment). Maybe me telling you this motivates you to double down on your writing craft until you reach a point where you are free to pick whenever you go on a creative walk.
But that’s not all.
90% of the people I encountered that morning were upright-friendly even while half of the walk was raining.
How well can you maintain a positive attitude while being outside in the rain?
When I project myself into the mind of the elderly who are on their walk at that time of the day, I just can’t help myself thinking that I would regret I didn’t do that or that I couldn’t do that when I was young.
Although this might sound stupid, it tells you much about yourself. It teaches you to see yourself when you are older. I became a firm believer that everyone you meet has been attracted by yourself, by the way you navigate through life, by your mood, by your feelings, by your attitude. As I see it, just an average walk became another one of life’s hidden lessons.
Try it, pay attention to your surroundings, and see what it teaches you.
Such an attitude requires you to hold a positive mindset and the ability to control yourself in unpreferred and unexpected situations.
In short, it takes a stoic approach. True happiness and positivity reflect naturally even in circumstances you wouldn’t expect. Everything is a thought switch that you control whenever you like, remember that.
“Time when you are disconnected from obligations and are free to do what you want with the positive state that comes with it is a sign you’re living life with your nose in the best direction.”
You Notice The Underestimated Value Of Great Talks
More and more I value this. Philosophy is the key to absorbing information and enhancing your awareness.
But there’s a catch to it.
It only provides value when engaged with like-minded people. Great talks are only as great as the weakest mind within the conversation, you want that “weakest mind” to be at least a great observer of life as well.
Great minds talk about:
- Ideas
- self-reflection
- Great experiences
- Mistakes through past experiences
- They talk about great feelings evoked
- Great minds try to collaborate to solve problems
- Generating new ideas through past mistakes from others, with respect to compress their own time required
Analyze some of the past conversations you had. See if you fall in the category of great minds for over 70% of the time roughly. If not, you might want to redirect the next conversations you have in such a direction or start avoiding senseless coversations at all, since they won’t help you progress and evolve.
These kinds of talks are value-generators and within the flow of philosophy, they inhibit every sense of time.
The best way to navigate through life effectively in that sense is to have a partner who’s on the sale page as you on this matter. Only then you’ll discover true worth of philosophizing.
A great addition is to have like-minded friends or colleagues aside, from whom you can have great conversations about intersecting and entirely different fields.
Increased ability to communicate with your partner — This comes with age and patience but not from both sides.
Even philosophizing with your kids triggers interesting, and funny moments too. Many parents treat kids like unknowingly little objects to whom they are (only) superior. Try to treat them as adults, dig into their dreamy world vision, and try to understand! You’ll be surprised by the value to be found in there, and you’ll create a deeper bond with your kids.
Emphasize great value talks, and try to fill your week with as much of this will enlighten your state and that of others around you.
“When you notice that you enjoy, prioritize, and prefer to absorb valuable talks more often, it’s a sign you’re progressing at abnormal velocity.”
Your Ability To Ignore Stuff
The more you absorb, the better you upgrade yourself, and the more resilient you become to senseless stimuli.
When you find it hard to remain calm, often it’s because you’re influenced by lots of negativity or unpleasant arousal.
Why wouldn’t you? I mean the whole world around us is designed to trigger our attention. Therefore ignoring distraction leads to enhanced awareness and lazer sharp focus. Some things I found helpful are:
- Improved sleep performance
- Hang out with relaxed people
- Spend time outside
- Separation time
- Mediation
- Laugh
Not everything that gets thrown at us is important or urgent.
There is a great system called “The Eisenhower Matrix” enabling you to sketch a clear image of how this works. Pay attention to what actually matters within our day and you’ll be stunned by how much is irrelevant.
Once you can ignore stuff that doesn’t matter that much easier than a while ago, you’ll experience a huge difference in your self-control.
“Once reach this level, you’ll navigate through society at a higher frequency, out of reach for most who are just undergoing life.”
You Can Spend Time With Your Family Without Being Timebound
When you spend time with your family, don’t live by a clock.
Remember, a clock ties you up with time. Once you learn how to navigate your day without being much time-bound, you’ll find it easier to notice the important things.
When you live by the clock people around you sense it, especially kids. When you’re constantly haunted by the wisers on your watch, it affects your state. What I’m trying to point out is that you want to use time and not be used by time. It’s not an easy thing to do and depending on your daily needs, exactly how capable you are of disconnecting from time will differ from one another.
Willing to accept it or not, but most of your day is already controlled, the watch around your wrist or the digits on your smartphone won’t change that. There’s a saying that you are the average of the five persons you spend most of your time with…
I like the simplicity of this sentence, however, it’s more complex.
We are an average of everything we expose ourselves to, the food, the people, the quality of nature, the country where we live in, the books you read, the podcasts you listen to, the movies soaps, or documentaries you watch, the games you play, the exercises you perform.
And here’s the kicker:
This counts for all the other people in this world too, and it reflects on each other as a mirror effect, subconsciously copying the behavior patterns of a copy.
So, the better you handle this, the less you are induced of time, it will reflect on the people around you, especially family, and kids will be very sensitive to this.
“Once you catch yourself less timebound engaging in social circles than before, it’s a sign that you’re navigating through the material realm in an unusual, yet calm and pleasant state.”
What’s On Your Bank Account Bothers You Less Than Before
Whether there’s 100.000 EU or 0 EU on your account, Nothing will change.
You will still be the person sitting behind their laptop and writing. You will still be able to go outside and go for a walk, you’ll still be able to have a great conversation with those you love. Digits on an account somewhere in the cloud won’t change that.
I’ve (we) been on all sides of the financial spectrum in life (besides the uber-rich spectrum which I really don’t care about). Believe me, I was bothered by those digits.
But somewhere along your life, you’ll discover that it causes just self-evoked and unnecessary chronic stress.
In the beginning, I told you to implement certain aspects (regrets if you will) from older persons into your life even when it’s against your nature.
Money is a filthy thing, and many elderly were greedy for an entire lifetime — learn from it. Decide whether you want this. Behave accordingly.
Many were greedy for good and worse reasons however this is the math:
- Some of them died and left a fortune for the government to grab
- The other piece of the pie was left as a present for grandchildren who had no respect or had no awareness of how much human energy was generated to acquire the sum left behind.
- The greediness of their lifestyle influenced their behavior negatively and reflected negatively in their social circle. (Most often youngers prejudge greedy elderly or they just wait to hit the jackpot — I saw this happen lots of times in different amongst different types of families)
Great!
We need money, we want a bit of structure, and we perform well if we generate a stable income. But more doesn’t add much value to the aspects of life that matter.
“Life is about absorbing the moment, not about making yourself crazy.”
The one’s real, the other one is a wuzzle, your pick.
You Are Doing Things That Make You Happier More Often Than Before
This might sound strange, but people like to behave beyond their true selves — even when this isn’t really what you want.
You would be surprised to know how many things most people do against their will per day. Be honest with yourself, somewhere in some area of your life you behave to be someone who you’re not. It is internal fear because you’re scared of the reaction of other people when the real you unfolds.
What would you do if you didn’t care about the validation of other people?
Wouldn’t you make different choices, and have different opinions?
Wouldn’t you act differently?
Chances are that you would, and most people would and will. I’ve seen it, I’ve experienced it myself.
The sooner you become aware of doing more stuff that actually makes you happy, stuff that you actually prefer doing instead of obligated tasks, the more free space will open for you. The sooner you take control over the things you really want to do, the denser your life quality will be.
“Once you notice that you are taking more actions that you truly like to do, actions that make you happier. It’s a sign that you’re navigating through life well.”
You Look At Your Partner In A Different Way
Flaws are part of what makes your partner look perfect, and the rest overrides the mental image you had before of a “perfect” partner.
I’ll leave it with this.
“When you love your partner more for different aspects than when you fell in love, it’s a sign you’re moving well through the uncalculatable field of love.”
Take This
Don’t let time be your enemy.
