New Experiences
Shocked by the Dance Floor Surprise
Maybe in a group of teenagers, but certainly not with a bunch of retirees!

City Fire was almost back to pre-Covid normal, standing-room only. The high-energy band, Groove-41, had the place rocking and the dance floor was full. Dance-floor collisions might happen frequently in a college setting, but are quite rare at City Fire. People are polite and careful.
We’d just joined the crowd when
I felt someone grab my butt!
It wasn’t a casual collision or brushing against someone. I could feel the fingers like kind of a massage. It didn’t last long, but certainly caught my attention. Nothing like that happened to me before, not with my partner and not from strangers!
I told my wife and we shifted to see who would do such a thing. It was the Groove-41 groupie couple, complete with their band t-shirts. She’s 87 and he is 92. They met five years ago while dancing on the town square.
She wanted to get our attention so she could tell us how much they liked to watch us dancing together. We are used to people telling us that. However, the approach was funny, really weird, and a new experience for me.
