Summary

The website content introduces a travel writing prompt inviting avid travelers to share their favorite holiday memories from their country of birth, with the chance to win priority publishing for their next article.

Abstract

The undefined website has launched a new travel writing prompt to uplift the mood of travel enthusiasts during challenging times. This initiative encourages writers to recount their most cherished travel experiences from their native country. The prompt is designed to foster happiness through shared stories, echoing a German proverb that suggests sharing joy doubles it. Participants are encouraged to submit either a photo essay or an article, focusing on personal connections to the places they write about. The winning entry will be awarded priority publishing service for their next submission and a prime position on the Blog. The prompt follows the success of the previous #exploreyourbackyard challenge, which saw Ranjani Rao's piece on relaxation without long holidays being selected as the best submission.

TRAVEL WRITING PROMPT

Share Your Favorite Travel Moment

Your life is as good as your mindset

While the first ones are running out of travel stories we have the next group of avid travelers already talking about their next planned adventures. The world is still upside down, in some ways at least, and while many still can’t think of taking their next holiday I would like to enlighten the mood with the next writing prompt.

If we share happiness, we double it. There’s a German saying about it and I like the message it’s sending out. If you share your happiness with someone else you make this other person a little happier too. And that way the happiness gets doubled.

If we walk around with a smile on our face we will more likely get a smile back from a passing person than if we walk around with a grumpy face.

Coming back to the topic of the next writing prompt. While I was thinking of a new title I was reading a piece Will Hull tagged me in. And there it was. The perfect idea.

While some of us get desperate for our next adventure why don’t we share some of our favorite travel moments we have already lived? And to make it more interesting I would love to read about your favorite holiday in the country you were born in.

I wanted to say “home country” but among a large group of modern travelers, the word “home” has very different meanings. I feel like I am home whenever I stay somewhere for more than a week. But this is a totally different topic. A different topic for another article for another day.

So please share your experiences with us in this next travel writing prompt with the topic:

Your favorite holiday or travel memory from the country you are born in.

You can share it in the form of a photo essay as Will Hull did with lots of photos and less than 500 words. Or you create an article from it. Please share your personal feelings and connections to the places you mention. We love to read about first-hand travel experiences.

Don’t forget to add at the end of the article the Hashtag #travelmemories so that we know it’s part of the writing prompt.

At the end of the two-week period, starting now, the editors will choose their favorite writing prompt response. The writer will win a priority publishing service for the next article being submitted and the winning post will get a prime position on our Blog.

And now about the previous writing prompt on #exploreyourbackyard and its winning champion. We requested you to walk out of your house and explore nature starting in your very own backyard.

Five articles have been submitted in the last two weeks and we enjoyed every single one of them! Here is our editor’s pick:

How To Relax When You Can’t Go on a Long Holiday” by Ranjani Rao

“The act of immersing myself in nature forced me to slow down, be observant, and acknowledge the trees, the sky, and the gurgling river that kept us company for most of the trek” — Ranjani Rao

Congrats to Ranjani for this wonderful read. It was picked as the best writing prompt response from four out of our five editors. You will receive priority publishing on your next submitted article and your current winning piece will receive a prime position on our Blog!

This should be enough motivation for all our writers to take part in the next writing prompt!
