Share The Love — Issue 6

Not living in a fantasy world — or are we?

Fantasy, sci-fi, mythology and the like. I love it all, just wish I had more time to indulge in those areas. I love the pic as it’s a fantasy version of our image. But this is no fantasy, is it?

What started out as a bit of fun is turning into something and I only have you wonderful readers and writers to thank for that. My week was spent trying to work out how to incorporate fiction into STL and also get ready to go back to work.

So now we have three new sections (more info further down). Micro-Fiction (300 words or less), Flash-Fiction (1000 words or less) and Short-Stories (Above 1000 words). Please make sure if you submit to these you use the standard medium tags.

We are looking for two more editors to start in July. Please email [email protected] if you would like to be an editor. We need one for poetry and definitely one for fiction.

Impromptu Prompt 1 Challenge

At the weekend I set a challenge. Write a poem about Jellyfish, I never thought this would have been such a popular prompt. Either that or you all wanted a feature page lol.

The feature page prize is staying, but will only be offered on the last weekend of each month. This time I asked one editor Melissa Speed to give me her top three from the prompt. The winner gets a feature page. Instructions on how to use this will be added to a private note.

The winner is……… Suryatapa

Ten Poems I’ve read and absolutely love.

There are just so many fantastic poems to read. I really wish I could just list every single one. These are ones that just stood out to me for various reasons, have a look as there is some amazing work out there.

I will keep looking and keep reading as many poems as I possibly can. I can say though I haven’t seen one that shouldn’t be on my list. Keep up the amazing work. I wish I could write the way you do!

If you are lucky enough to be included below feel free to share the love and spread the word.

‘Go on, I Dare Ya! Do a Prompt’

Why not shake those brain cells up a little and have a go at one of the prompts. Or have a go at all of them if you are feeling brave. So you don’t feel left out I also do the prompts.

All prompts will be added into the prompt page. Favourites from last week.

Fiction

I’m no expert at writing fiction. If you look at my profile it is mainly poetry. Some of our writers are already fiction writers. Alex Kilcannon has written an excellent piece on how to write flash fiction. If you want to get into it then have a read.

Also, she writes a monthly blog about her favourite fiction finds. So I’d rather support her finds than list a whole load of new ones. So make sure you support these fantastic fiction writers too.
