My September Writing Goals
Flint & Steel accountability challenge

A new month means new writing goals. September brings a change to my writing routine, now that my kids are in school. Pockets of uninterrupted time are at my disposal.
The key word in that sentence is uninterrupted.
Oh what a beautiful word, I must say.
I’ve been spending the last few months mostly writing nonfiction here on Medium, which I love. But now I need to shift my focus back to fiction writing. Flash fiction, short stories, poetry.
And I need to get back to working on my novel. I hit the pause button because I’ve been battling myself on deciding which book idea I want to write for my MFA thesis. After I make that final decision, then I can prep for NaNoWriMo which is in November.
My September Writing Goals
- Write 10,000 words towards writing fiction (flash, short stories, poetry, prep for my book). I’m working on a serial fiction series that I will share on Medium.
- Write 5 articles for my publication, Flint & Steel.
- Update My Novel Journey and open up to other writers for them to document their journey to writing a book.
- Write two (minimum) creative nonfiction articles per week on Medium.
- Write one post per week on my personal website.
- Write a 100-word story to enter for The Writer contest.

My whys
- To build my publication in order to support other writers on Medium.
- To double my monthly income each month on Medium.
- To prep for NaNoWriMo in November, where I will write 50,000 words of my novel I’m writing for my MFA thesis.
- To publish a fiction serial on Medium, which I will self publish when completed.
