Saving Online Writing: How These Ironclad Writers Challenge Mind-Numbing Content
And what you can learn from the League of Justice Writers.
Am I the only one who thinks that online writing has reached an all-time low in terms of quality across the entire web?
Yeah, that AI and ChatGPT side-effect.
Dry and obvious how-to advice written by machines as the new cyber-pandemic.
The monotony has reached unprecedented heights.
But just when I thought all hope was lost, my very own League of Justice Writers emerged to save the day.
The Superhero Lineup
- Superman Tim: The most popular superhero for the most popular writer. Laser vision for money tips and straightforward productivity without stale clichés.
- Wonderwoman Eve: A writer who exudes strength, resilience, and unyielding determination. Skilled in self-development weapons, excellent strategist with a Golden lasso of truthfulness.
- Sean The Flash: Lightning-fast writing style that captures your attention from the first word and takes you on a whirlwind journey through inconceivable stories and insights.
- Batman Ayodeji: The Dark Knight of thought-provoking ideas. He fearlessly points at the shadows of society, challenging our beliefs. A beacon of brutal truth.

- Aquaman Michael: Venturing into uncharted waters, Michael navigates through intellectual currents with ease, bringing back treasures of wisdom where we discover the beauty beneath the surface.
- Hawkgirl Paula: Paula’s articles are lift-ups with emotions, people, places, and all kinds of substances. Personal anecdotes that resonate deeply, inspiring us to spread our wings and fly.
(Well, that really sounds like the horoscope)
Why Are They My League of Justice Writers?
Being superheroes, it’s accurate to say this is their shared superpower: content that hits.
And it hits me right in the feels.
You know that feeling when you stumble upon something that just clicks? Like a direct line to your thoughts and emotions?
That kind of feeling.
And that is also how their community of readers feels: you only need to scramble through their comment section for proof.
You can also learn cool stuff, laugh, take writers’ advice, get inspired, etc, etc, etc.
But I chose them because I feel a level of empathy with their words that others can’t attain.
Of course, not every piece of writing they produce resonates in the same way, but most of them do.
The extra ingredient in their writing: straightforward honesty.
No empty jargon or borrowed stories. Just written reflections on their life paths.
A Hero’s Journey
Different time zones and different backgrounds bring different stories.
My 7 Justiciers cover the East and West costs in the US, Spain, Turkey, all the way to Australia.
Broad spectrum written medicine.
The other key ingredient of my League of Justice Writers is their different stages of development and how they chose to diversify their voices.
They have a little bit of everything:
- the writer who has arrived at the main stage and is still compulsively obsessed with producing better and more
- the Quora expert, humorous ghostwriter, out-of-the-boxer that just knows what he’s doing
- the book writer turned podcaster, turned youtube, turned TedTalker
- the one that is getting there, living an exponential growth thanks to her stubborn consistency and love for the game
- the former stutter that now teaches storytelling to Fortune 500s
- the one that just needs a break and is prioritizing his personal life ahead of his virtual persona
- the globetrotter Hermione, getting dirty and escaping common rooms
They all embed different stages of an online career.
From millions of views and platforms to starting to amplify their voice in other platforms, they all serve as guidance on what a writer’s journey looks like.
One that I can use as a template.
I can project where I want to be in 6 months, a year, 3, 5, 10.
Not saying that this is a straight line, quite the opposite.
But that is what lies between 1.1k and 316k followers.
And none of them is more inspirational than the other, just different.
The Common Thread: Traits of Superhero Writers
The obvious answer is that they have trademark voices and styles. But that would be like saying that their superpower is a right jab when it’s way more than that.
- Niching down: They found the Goldilocks Intersection between their background, expertise, and interests. That’s how they embrace what gives them leverage providing quality, specific, trademark content based on their strengths and knowledge.
Common factor: They don’t waste your time.
- Multiple Platforms: Medium is just ONE of their streams. YouTube, podcasts, Quora and Gumroad are some other explored platforms.
Common factors: Twitter and Substack.
- Free Stuff: The 90/10 rule applied, where 90% of the content is free / 10% is paid. Free guides, lists, vids; paid books, masterclasses, and special content.
Common factor: Newsletters.
- 9-to-5 affiliates: They speak real and know that the “Read this book and be a billionaire in 6 months” is pure BS. That’s why they all speak of the Clark Kent-Superman lifestyle and the upside of having stability and developing systems for efficiency.
Common factor: Writing as a side hustle.
- Crackerjacks: So these guys aren’t just writers. As a matter of fact, writing is a consequence of their other skills and interest. From finance to acting, design to marketing, filmmaking to parenting, writing serves as the medium that channels their diverse abilities.
Common factor: Range of knowledge against hyper-specificity.
- Persistency (not Consistency) Mindset: They’ve been in the game for some time now. From 2 to 10 years. They definitely have the patience to keep going. But that’s not consistency (repeating the same habit repeatedly and expecting to become as successful). That’s Persistency: thinking long-term (5+ years) with an adaptive approach to constantly iterate. They admit they don’t know what they don’t know, using curiosity to explore new options and experimentation to execute and collect data on what works and what doesn’t.
Common factors: Long-term vision and recyclability.
- Quantity leads to quality: As true players, these writers know that practice makes perfect. And that’s why they are constantly polishing their style, some posting 2000 words two or three times a day. And as a by-product, they expand their personal brand making it more SEO-friendly.
Common factor: They show up.
The 70/20/10 Rule: A Reading Game Plan
This is how I spend my time reading on Medium:
- 70% devoted to my League of Justice Writers, to whom I am subscribed.
- 20% exploring new suggestions, following intriguing writers, and diving into comment threads that pique my interest. It’s a chance to discover fresh perspectives and expand my horizons.
- 10% for random experimentation — a wild card slot that allows me to stumble upon hidden gems or unexpected delights. It keeps things interesting and allows me to broaden my horizons.
This way, I know I will most certainly read content that delivers its promise and don’t over-surf the platform.
Oh, and I set a 30-minute timer. In case there is a nice swell of stories hitting the shore.
Final Thoughts: A Superpower Within Reach
Now, let’s get real for a moment.
My League of Justice Writers may possess incredible talent, but they’re not distant, unattainable figures floating in the writing stratosphere.
They’re just like you and me — quirks, struggles, and triumphs included.
Through their genuine storytelling, they share their unpretentious thoughts and experiences with the world.
This relatability makes them trustworthy and relatable, transforming them into a daily dose of encouragement.
Heroes come and go, and this League of Justice Writers will undoubtedly evolve and change over time.
But for now, they continue to fight the monotonous MagneTP with their uppercut storytelling.
The bottom line is to find inspiration in their relentless pursuit of excellence.
It’s a superpower that’s within our reach if we’re willing to put in the work and stay true to ourselves.
And rescue the online writing universe from its latest supervillain, one captivating story at a time.
