The influence of transit or natal Saturn through the signs and houses

Welcome to the eleventh article in this Saturn series.
This series explores how Saturn might show up in your life when it transits the 11th House or Aquarius, or if you have this placement in your birth chart.
You can find the introduction to this series here, which includes links to all the articles in the series.
Saturn in the Eleventh House or Aquarius by transit or birth
The eleventh House has to do with our friend groups, communities, and the causes we care about and get involved in.
Having Saturn might mean you are, or become, a champion for positive change in society, a leader of movements and revolutions. You may strive to build community, but encounter struggles along the way.
You are likely to become an authority figure in the groups you are part of. People look to you for guidance because they see you as someone who has the tools to coordinate big social efforts.
Your skill in this area might have come from experiencing or witnessing oppression at a young age. Perhaps you were part of a minority group, or you were involved with people in minority groups, who faced barriers in the world and had to work hard to overcome such challenges.
Because of this, you are very outspoken when you see people being treated unfairly, and you feel a fire in yourself to speak up against injustice.
You may have had to work tirelessly to get the treatment and the recognition you needed.
Saturn’s lessons and work bear fruits in time. Try not to get frustrated if situations seem impossible or if you keep encountering brick walls. Your commitment to your dreams will pay off.
Famous Example
Vincent van Gogh had Saturn in the Eleventh House.
van Gogh had a dream to start an artists’ community at his house in Arles, France, very Saturn in the 11th House. Although it looked promising at first when his friend, fellow painter Paul Gauguin, joined him at his home, it did not last for long due to problems with accepting each others’ opinions of how to create art.
As things became worse, van Gogh cut off one of his ears and was taken to hospital. The principal doctor of the hospital wrote to the mayor of Arles saying van Gogh was not sane. Later, he admitted himself to a psychiatric hospital where he stayed for a year and continued painting from there.
van Gogh’s story does not have a happy ending. He eventually took his own life. Letters he wrote indicate that he saw himself and his work as a failure.
van Gogh’s work wasn’t recognised during his lifetime as it is now. Since more modern times, he is considered to be a prolific, famous artist with a lot of talent, and it is a great shame he couldn’t see in himself what the world does now.
His story demonstrates the genius and personal talent within a person seen for what it is in the long-term, another Saturn in the 11th House theme.
