Restructure Your Weekends to Become Unstoppable
And Avoid Monday Blues
Have you felt exhausted after a long weekend or vacation?
As a part-time creator, I sometimes live like I am burning extra. And sooner or later, I may burn out or despise the things I love to do.
I realized, I am trying to do it all and adding things without eliminating anything else.
The pressure was taking a toll on me. But thankfully, I found a solution to break free from constant exhaustion.
When you are a creator, it seems like you need to be always on and barely taking rest.
But my friend, creativity comes from living life, not from constantly working.
If your weekdays are so chock full that you have to use your weekends just to catch up?
That’s not a good place to be.
And guess what happens? We just get more and more exhausted.
New Movies, TV shows to catch up on, meeting friends, and relatives, completing house chores, and extra pressure to stay up to date with current news and gossip.
You feel dreadful and procrastinate as much as you can before you go back to your working routine.
And You just get more and more exhausted.
How do we fix it?
Ways to restructure your weekends
1. Audit your free time
“What did you do this weekend?”
I’m not saying that you have to do absolutely nothing on Saturday and Sunday.
And you don’t need to give up brunch with your friends or that regularly scheduled family trip.
But audit your time to make room for resting and freeing yourself from constant productive cycle.
2. Use blank spaces
I plan my Sunday in such a way that after noon-ish I have nothing left to do in terms of work or being productive.
It’s my time and I have full control over how I want to spend it.
I usually spend time curling up with a book, going for an outdoor walk, or just drinking my favorite masala tea with some yummy snacks.
But you probably won’t do it unless you block out time and tell people about it.
This could be your little “me” time.
3. Limit weekend with the activities you enjoy and love
Go to the museum, go see a movie, or head to the beach.
But don’t try to smoosh more than one of that types of activity into one day.
Divide them in such a way that you are truly present and enjoying every moment of it.
Final thoughts
Weekends are made to be fun.
Keep an open and free mind to observe more and process the things that mean something to you.
Set some free time and unleash yourself from the round-the-clock productive cycle.
Find time to relax and give your brain a break.
If you find it helpful, share your thoughts in the comments.
