Raising Your Energy

Day 71: Working on feeling better, one day at a time

One of the things that I love about my husband and me is that we always find ways to make life fun. Last night we had to run a quick errand. We have not been going outside except for things we really needed to do for several days now. I love that he suggested that after our errand at the bank, that we go get a bubble tea. We found ourselves chatting, laughing, and enjoying our precious time. I love the moments that we have together, where for a while we forget that there are so many difficult things going on in the outside world. I believe these moments are pure joy. Enjoying moments of happiness is the perfect topic for my 100-day spiritual journey exploring the book Letting Go by David R. Hawkins.

This week has become all about being in the moment and finding a routine and activities that can raise my energy little by little each day. These past few days have been difficult. It seemed that with the fires and smoke, another layer had been added to cause us stress and worry.

However, these times can also be seen as teachers for the lessons we need to learn right now. The lesson I am learning is that I need to let go of everything I cannot control. I lamented the fact that I could not go out for my garden walks. That is something that is out of my control. Instead of ruminating on the things I cannot do, I am choosing to focus on what I can do. Now, I am walking indoors each morning on our elliptical machine after I do my meditation. This new routine gives me the energy that I need to carry on with my day in a positive way. The biggest lesson here is that we must be adaptable to thrive.

The lower our emotional state, the more negatively we influence not only our own lives but also all of life around us. The higher the emotional level of evolution, the more positive our life becomes on all levels, and we support all life around us. As negative emotions are acknowledged and surrendered, we get freer and move up the scale, eventually experiencing predominantly positive feelings. -David R. Hawkins

It is paramount that each and every day if we are feeling stress, anxiety, or sadness, we take a step to raise our energy. It may be just a small step, like asking ourselves what we could do right now to feel a little better. It could be a bigger step, like sitting with our feelings and letting go. Allowing myself to only do what I feel I can do each day has helped me raise my energy this week.

Yesterday I learned a great lesson from my son. I had started to watch tutorial videos on YouTube about how to use a new video editing app on my phone. I am learning how to record and edit videos for my channel. He asked me if he could see the app. He proceeded to make a quick video, and then played around with the settings. He had no fear, he just did it!

Witnessing his enthusiasm, I decided to record some video clips and started to learn how to edit the video. Now I am nearly done. I asked if he would help me this afternoon by adding some titles to the video. These moments taught me that sometimes we are afraid of starting something because it is unknown. If we take the first steps, even if they are small ones, we can make progress and feel more positive about ourselves.

My prayer and my intention for you today is that you take one small step to feel more positive. Do something fun. Do something out of your comfort zone. Find something that you can do that brings a smile to your face. We are all under a lot of stress and uncertainty. Doing things that are within our control can raise our energy and bring more positivity to ourselves and others around us.

What small step can you take today to feel more positive?
