Publish Your Tech Stories with The Useful Tech

Follow these steps to publish with us

Who are we?

We’re The Useful Tech and Nikhil Vemu.

If you’re interested in binging on Apple stuff and have been on Medium for a while, we’re sure you’ve read at least a few articles of ours.

Why “The Useful Tech” pub?

There are tons of pubs on Medium that publish articles on Tech. However,

  • Some publish other topics’ articles alongside i.e., they aren’t niched.
  • Some are hard to get in — especially for writers who’re just starting out on Medium.

So we thought of starting a publication that’s highly focused on Tech (Coz we are!). We strive to publish high-value content from anyone who’s knowledgeable and passionate about writing about tech.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or a veteran writer. You’re welcome to publish in The Useful Tech — however, we expect some quality.

What do we publish?

We love gadgets — and we publish anything on that topic. To be precise, we accept content on the:

(Examples given for better understanding.)
  • latest gadgets or software updates,
  • amazing apps or services you love using,
  • hidden tricks in a device you think most people don’t know.
  • Some noteworthy AI tricks and websites.

And any other topic you think relates to these…

We love tech — that doesn’t mean we only accept articles singing praises to tech.

Shoot us something you hate about umm… a gadget or a feature, we’d love to hear that too.

Points to remember

If your story’s rejected, we can’t provide an elaborate reason why. So make sure you read these guidelines carefully.

• We accept drafts and published stories

• Provide readers with some value

Don’t just write an article that feels no different than an AI-rephrased Wikipedia page.

Provide some value, give your perspective, and most importantly, human touch.

• Keep your story grammatically error-free

Consider using Grammarly if you think you make them often.

• Affiliate links “are allowed”

but they have to be disclosed. Also, make sure you don’t fill your article with them.

• Have an image (preferably)

But make sure you have the right to use it. Every image in the article has to be attributed correctly.

• No clickbait

Submissions with clickbait-y titles like

  • “Do this and your iPhone battery will never die”
  • “This is the only article you’ll ever need to read”
  • “This one app will CHANGE your life”

will be instantly rejected. Ask yourself, “Does the content deliver its promise?” before sending us a story.

• Zero plagiarism policy

Plagiarism isn’t tolerated — we’ve told it. Doing this will terminate you from the publication forever.

How to submit your article

If you’ve never published with us before, comment below saying, “I want to be a writer!” and we’ll add you soon.

After you’ve been added to The Useful Tech, to publish your article (possible only on desktop),

  • Tap on the three dots above,
  • Click on ‘Add to publication”,
  • Select ‘The Useful Tech < Select and Continue’,
  • Add relevant details to your story,
  • ‘Submit to publication’.

Expect us to publish your story within 24–28 hours of submission. If your story isn’t published in the duration, you may safely assume we didn’t accept it this time.

But we still await your future stories!
